When I purchased this I wasn't aware that this does not consist of original recordings from the 70's. The vocal abilities of the members are not what they once were and there isn't the same energy to the recordings. Nevertheless the music is enjoyable enough.

I have owned this album for quite some time. I present a Beach Music radio show & not all the tracks are strictly beach music. However General Johnson is an institution on the Beach Music scene & this double album is a good indication of his career as the boss of Surfside records. There are some great tracks & in my opinion, no duds. Its worth checking out for the breadth of the General's capabilities. I certainly don't regret buying it.

Great group, in my opinion. Not easy finding all their US/UK hits on one CD. For being remakes, they are a lot better than most remakes!!!

The best of the best beach music. A proper tribute to one of beach music's most popular singers. I would not sell this set for anything.

The music is for beach and shag fans but it is also a tribute to its recently departed to heaven leader.

The sound quality and selection of songs are amazing. The only negative point is the lack of information in the booklet. For example, the song "Rockaway Beach" is sung with Joey Ramone and is not quoted. Still worth it!

As a lover of beach music, I missed this one somewhere along the line....glad I found it.....GREAT CD

My wife met one of the singers from this group (Danny)at her workplace and he was very nice so we ordered this Cd out of curiosity and found a pleasent surprise. It is uplifting and feelgood music with smooth vocals that work well together. We played it on our way to Daytona Beach and it set the atmosphere for fun in the sun. Patches has always been one of may favorite oldies songs and was surprised to see that the General wrote it. If you like your "beach music" to be more soulful and more jamming than the Beach Boys then this CD is for you.
Put it in on vacation and let the good times roll.

Service was excellent. CD was sent within 1 week. The CD is a great compilation of the best of the Chairmen of the Board. It is great. Every fan of the late General Johnson should have this one in their collection.

I was a little disappointed with this CD. I expected it to have more beach type music than it did.
