From School Library Journal
PreSchool-K-- Florian has a formula for success--simple crayon, watercolor, and pen drawings that pleasantly portray fun family outings. In this one, the seventh of his picture books, the group goes to the beach in the early morning and stays for the evening Fourth of July fireworks. This book resembles the others in style, color, and theme. A large-print phrase accentuates the visual action of each fully illustrated page of relaxed figures: "Feet splash," "Waves crash." While Florian makes substantial use of the flesh-color crayon, he includes a good racial mix on this not-too-crowded beach. A closing bonus is a brief look at some of the seashells that can be found on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. --Marianne Pilla, Upper Dublin Pub . Lib . , Dresher, PA
