First impressions are lasting impressions and smooth jazz saxophonist, writer, and producer Edgar Wallace Jr. leaves a musical impression on his audience that's phenomenal.
Edgar is releasing his debut full-length independent smooth jazz c.d., in which he wrote and produced every song, except were noted, which was co-produced and arranged by bassist/producer Al Turner. Edgar performs at various private and charitable events in the Metropolitan Detroit area."I always try to work on my live performance because it brings out a different element in me that's hard to achieve in the studio, and the emotions that I feel from the audience are priceless'.
Edgar comes from a musical background. His cousin Scherrie Payne formerly sang with the Supremes and recently performed with Diana Ross on the Supremes reunion tour. Freda Payne, also his cousin, sang the hit song "Band of Gold" and has enjoyed a lengthy Motown solo singing career.
Edgar plays soprano, alto and tenor saxophones and keyboards. He also composes, produces, engineers and performs digital audio and midi editing on the computer. This is quite an achievement for one individual and it demonstrates the drive and determination Edgar possesses to be successful in the music business and it will certainly be evident when listening to his soundtrack entitled "On The Beach"."All of the songs on the c.d. mean a lot to me, as any song should to an artist who performs their own material."Take My Hand", "Soul Journey" and "The Dress" are special to me because the material appeared to me while dreaming. I know that none of this wouldnít be possible without God, and I know how it feels to be personally blessed by God".
