Beach Head 2000,

This game puts you right in the middle of the action. Really. The sound effects and graphics are incredible. I just bought a new computer and I've spent up to 8 hours or more playing this and Beachead 2002. If you want to have fun and a challange, this game is definitely for you. One drawback or negative and it's a big one... The turret or machine gun continually moves and it's annoying as hell... If you try to take aim on an oncoming tank, the barrel continues to move and you have to battle the movement continuously... Aside from that, it's a fantastic amount of fun!

I once worked in quality assurance (AKA: Testing) for a video card company. As a result, I play lots and lots of games. When I came across Beachhead 2000 here on amazon and saw that it had 4 stars, I almost swallowed my tongue.
Now you don't have to take my word for this. Just about all the PC Game magazines out there had a unanimous verdict on this game. Which pretty much boiled down to "um... this sucks." The game is completely arcade styled. This is not a bad thing on its own. However the bad guys you have to shoot down stay pretty much the same throughout the entire game... just more of them moving faster. Anyone who claims that this is in any way representative of any conflict, anywhere - on a beach, in the air or on a city street should seek medical attention immediately. While ($) does seem like a great price for software, keep in mind that the old saying "You get what you pay for" is not only true... but at ($)you are STILL being overcharged for what this pile of digital doodoo has to offer. You want your moneys worth for ($)? Shop around for a copy of "Half-Life". The game as it comes is worth many times the price and once your done with the game that comes in the box, you can download a wide variety of add-on material that gets you a whole new game. Did I mention you can download all these add-ons FOR FREE? That really is about it. Run, don't walk, away from this product... save yourself.

Well, I have to say, after twelve years, Beach Head 2000 still remains a classic in my biggest collection of video games on the best system: the PC. Sure, it isn't as enthralling as it was all those years ago when I didn't care about how bad the graphics were, or the repetition, but I can still jump into a game off my last save and still test my skills at shooting moving objects from a stationary position, while having a good deal of fun.
I feel that Beach Head 2000 is a very underrated video game in the video gaming community, and therefore, it deserves credit where credit is due. The repetition of the game and the similar paths an enemy takes in each round does get boring, but if you look past that, there is skill needed to stick with it and progress through the levels. Even though one can memorize these paths, dealing with several enemies at once can get challenging, and that's what the game has going for it. So, if you like shooting enemies constantly and blowing them up with missiles and AT cannon fire, then you'll like this one. Don't expect this game to stand up against the big-name FPSs of today like Call of Duty: Black Ops or Halo, but if you're still into classic games on the PC like myself, and you want to test your skill and patience, give this one a try and see how many levels you can advance before you use a trainer(or not, because you have lots of skill).

I REALLY liked this game!!! I had this game for 8 YEARS but my disc got damaged and I could not load it in my new computer.Ordered a new Beach Head 2000 disc. OLD version worked great and was made by WIZARDWORKS GROUP and NEW one by another company(NOT mentioning name). Any way my NORTON says "this disc" has a TROJAN in the software trying to invade my computer and will not let it load. So, this could be true or maybe this GAME just is not compatible with the new WINDOWS 7 operating system. Either way, it WILL NOT load. Well, I was determined so I tried to load it 5 more times and "FINALLY" Norton did not stop it from loading. Got it loaded and started playing it but some of the numbering on the screen was not readable, like the ammo shots left, rockets available and scoreing numbers etc. Thenafter a short while on level 5 the graphics and numbers got very LARGE and computer shut down and went into what looked like a "SAFE MODE". NORTON came back on and indicated a safety or SECURITY problem. I had to immediately shut down my computer and run a complete NORTON scan which FOUND and QUARANTEEND several TROJANS!!! I do BELEIVE this Beachhead 2000 has a MAJOR security issue!!!!!!!! DON'T BUY IT,,,,

I came across Beach Head 2000 and decided to give it a shot, wanting a diversion from writing code. Unfortunately, it isn't anything like the five star reviewers suggest. This game would be perfect for children (who aren't technically sophisticated) to keep them occupied for about half a day (maybe more for children that are "special"). After that, it's more an exercise in repetition than entertainment. Another plus is that the graphics are mediocre, so no expensive graphics card (or fast CPU) is required. Adults will be bored within 30 minutes if even that long. So, I have to agree with the one star reviewers on this one. The game is reminiscent of the arcade games in the 80's, where you do the same thing again, and again, only faster. It gets boring quickly. If you run out of ammunition (and you will), you can't do anything except wait to be killed. It is a one star game, but I gave it two stars because grandparents can use it to distract their grandchildren for an hour or two, on an underpowered PC.

im in the military, and sometimes i dream of what it would be like to be on a beach head all alone, facing down a never ending enemy. all you can do is pull the trigger and hope you stall their siege. this game is worth 10 bucks, i would even buy it for 20. if you ever feel like taking on a whole army and its heavy support of apaches, tanks, fighter jets, b-52s, APCs, landing craft complete with a whole platoon, pick this up. TRUST ME you wont regret it.........
