Here's a study in contrasts. In this twin action figure set from the GI Joe line, Beach Head, a good-looking hero, dons a gray sweater with matching detachable hood and brown camouflage pants. His opponent is the fabulously named Dr. Mindbender who looks exactly how you would think an evil genius would: bald head, big black moustache, and garish pendant. But while Mindbender is presumably a smart guy, he also must work out, judging by his exposed muscular torso. The pairing of these two archetypal adversaries begs many questions: In what scenario would they battle? Who would win? How long did it take Mindbender to complete medical school? Were the other students sort of afraid of him? Both figures are highly articulated and can easily stand or pose. A whimsical library backdrop is included (we doubt its part of Beach Head's house) as are quite a few plastic machine guns. --Charlie Williams

Dr. Mindbender is one of my favorite characters! Now he's back and looking awesome! The only thing which I hate is the arm sculpt. He cant's hold his weapons, and doesn't have his hands facing in the usual direction. I wish they would've given him twisting wrists at least. Other than that, the figure is great. I love the classic, yet conservative new look. His weapons are just hot, too. Nothing like dazzling golden revolvers...now THAT'S style!!! They put that @#$%& "sound attack" chip on his shotgun though, and ruined it! Beach Head is darn nice too. Not as exciting as Mindbender, but still very pleasing. Also comes with weapons. Word to Hasbro: Ditch the sound chips and include figure stands. Despite flaws, this is a great toy pack. Recommended.
