However, prolific architecture author Webb (e.g., Architects House Themselves) and architecture photographer Schezen focus on the grand homes that line the U.S. coast, from Florida to the Pacific Northwest. In beautiful color photographs, they show primarily late 20th-century architect-designed homes that take advantage of their beach setting and "respond to the nature and the spirit of the place." About the Author

Roberto Schezen is an internationally acclaimed photographer, best known for his images of architecture. His work has been exhibited around the world and is included in the Museum of Modern Art collection. His 26 books include Places and Memories, The Villa: From Ancient to Modern, Palm Beach Houses, and New York: Trends and Traditions. A native of Milan, Schezen now lives in New York.

More About the Author

Michael Webb is the author of 26 books on modern architecture and design. He was born in 1937 and grew up in London, where he worked at The Times and Country Life magazine, before moving to the U.S. in 1969 to become Programming Director of the American Film Institute. He resumed his writing career in 1981 and now lives in Los Angeles when he is not traveling the world to gather material for books and articles.
