5.0 out of 5 stars Wow
I wasn't expecting this stuff to be very effective. I have a pair of jeans I really like that were patched/reinforced (on the inside) with iron-on stuff. After several washings, the patches were coming loose, but the fabri-tac really glued them back down tight. The jeans have been through the wash a couple of times now and the patches are holding-up well. I also have...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
After reading the other reviews, I was expecting a kind of "super glue" that worked on fabric. This adhesive may work fine if you are already planning to sew the fabric after using the adhesive. I was hoping for an adhesive that would hold patches on clothing without sewing. This adhesive did not work that way. Any fabrics that I glued together pulled back apart...

I also have a big cushion for an teak outdoor loveseat. The stitching was rotting and the whole thing was coming apart. It took several days of gluing different sections, but I was able to put it all back together again. The new seams are a bit stiff, but they're very strong. I used very little of the product for these two jobs. I'm impressed.

I make purses, and this product is the best and safest I have found. It grabs and holds wherever it is needed.

I have been a "crafter"-"sewer" for over 60 years and this is my favorite item in my sewing basket!!! It dries flexible, clear and launders well. It tack fabric together instantly but will pull apart, to readjust, if needed. MAC

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast drying and surprisingly permanent, June 16, 2010
This review is from: Beacon Fabri-Tac Permanent Adhesive, 4-Ounce (Kitchen)
This fabric glue is the best I've ever found. I've tried a couple of others and haven't been pleased with the results because they don't stand up to washing and start peeling off far too soon. The fabri-tac does actually seem to be permanent or as permanent as a fabric glue is going to get. I even used it to install zippers on the pockets of several jumper dresses and they are all still holding up after multiple times through the wash. The only thing negative is that it can come out of the bottle in globs and it dries extremely fast so it's very important to be quite speedy and precise when using it so I probably wouldn't recommend it for childrens crafts or similar uses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Repairs Jeans, March 19, 2010

I have been using this to repair my jeans when they start to get frayed but haven't yet developed a big hole. I glue the repair cloth on from the rear. It seems to stand up well to the washing machine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Same as Mighty Mend It, November 3, 2008

Buy Fabri-Tac at a lower cost, not Mighty Mend It at the infomercial price of $29.00. TV and marketing always gets you when you don't shop and research. Infomercials bring us back to "caveat emptor" -- let the buyer beware. Both products cannot be dry cleaned, and are not great for leather or heavy upholstry.

I was hoping for an adhesive that would hold patches on clothing without sewing. This adhesive did not work that way. Any fabrics that I glued together pulled back apart relatively easily. I'm sure it's a good adhesive to hold fabric while you are sewing it, but it didn't work for my purposes.

5.0 out of 5 stars great stuff, March 3, 2011
This review is from: Beacon Fabri-Tac Permanent Adhesive, 4-Ounce (Kitchen)
I love this glue. I use it for crafting items, and this is a dream. It requires very little for most tasks to hold extremely well. Also if this glue spills it tends to turn into a solid rubber glob, that can just be rolled off fingers. What has sold me on this product is that it doesn't seep through things like felt when sticking areas together, and then not ruining the outside look of the item I'm making/building. One draw back, I find (but only when the bottle is nearly finished) is that the thick consistency can be hard to squeeze from the bottle, giving you a little cramping in your hand. I recently ran out of this and my local store doesn't carry this brand anymore, so I bought Arlenes Tacky Glue (pen style) and 'Arlenes clear gel tacky glue'. Neither stuck well at all, and both soaked right through the felt to stain the outside of the felt. Go with this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabri-Tac is awesome!, September 30, 2011
This review is from: Beacon Fabri-Tac Permanent Adhesive, 4-Ounce (Kitchen)
Fabri-Tac is awesome! My husband and I have been using it for various sewing and repair projects for 6 months now, and it works better than any other glue we've tried. The people who say it does not work are probably working too slowly. It dries very quickly.

Buy it!
