Wonderful Variety,
By
This review is from: Bead & Button (Magazine)
This is a wonderful magazine with a variety of projects, from seed bead work to simple stringing. Simple directions help ease the process of creation, and a glossary is available for true beginners. I find a project that grabs me immediately in each issue, and often look through past months for inspiration.

best beading magazine around,
By
This review is from: Bead & Button (Magazine)
I have been a subscriber for many years. This is my favorite beading magazine. I do not enjoy stringing, so the easier bead stringing magazines do not appeal to me. However, Bead & Button has such a variety of projects and techniques, that it will appeal to most everyone. As an advanced seed bead technique lover, I find so much inspiration in this magazine. Typically I find 4 - 7 projects per issue that I MUST try out. They have a reader's gallery where you can send in photos of your work. Excellent directions that are easy to follow, even for the most complicated pieces. Great magazine. Highest recommendation. I save all my copies and return to them frequently.

Not for me,
This review is from: Bead & Button (Magazine)
I stopped my subscription to Bead and Button because over the years it seemed to gravitate more and more to beading as a means for personal adornment. Each issue was awash in how to bead necklaces, bracelets, pendants, etc. as opposed to beading for visual art sake. I am very interested in Native beading as well as "bead paintings, " beading on cloth or canvas, and artists such as Mimi Holmes, Joyce Scott, Ken Tisa, etc. While Bead and Button has had some great articles in the past, they seemed to become fewer and fewer over the recent years making a subscription, at least for one not particularly interested in jewelry, not worth the cost.

Amazon not competitive!,

Great magazine, but the one-year subscription (six issues) is much cheaper if purchased directly from the Publisher. Sorry, Amazon, you need to update your pricing on this one!

Ordered this as a gift. The first issue was received within 4 weeks of placing the order through Amazon. This was my first time at ordering a magazine subscription through Amazon....probably will try this again.

Great for Seed Beaders, but Average for all other Beaders...,

This review is from: Bead & Button (Magazine)
I think this magazine is Great for Seed Beaders, at least I see this as the primary focus of this magazine. Although, I do think it's good for all other beaders, the ones who likes to use all sorts of beading materials. They have good instructions and I ocassionally find some really cool inspirational pieces in this magazine. I have stopped my subscription only because there are so many other magazines that focus on different types of beading and not just one primary method.

I have subscribed for many years. I almost never copy designs, but use it for inspiration and technique. It is a very valuable resource for sources. I find that I must use several resources for my creations.
I really like to read the biographic pieces; it's always interesting to read about creative people; they are usually so modest and humble.

Bead and Button is the best magazine for seed bead lovers...,
By
This review is from: Bead & Button (Magazine)
If you love seed beading, then this is the magazine for you. I fell in love with Bead and Button years ago when I picked up my first copy at JoAnn Fabrics. I became a subscriber immediately and plan to be one for the life of the magazine, or me, whichever comes first. The quality of the projects are outstanding and the designers have reached to a higher level of design excellence. The projects are so versatile that there is always something to make that I could wear for any situation. I get complements with every piece of jewelry that I wear. The magazine might seem a little pricey, but really, what can you get for $30 these days? Going to the movie theater for 2. A half decent bottle of wine. Or... A years worth of fun and a jewelry box full of pleasure.
