Holly Harper's life is finally getting back on the right track after her divorce from "what's his name." She and a group of divorcees have formed a strong bond plotting creative ways to get back at their exes by creating a self-help group known as The Divorced Divas where the meeting are held in Holly's bead store, The Beaded Dragonfly.

There's more than just beading going on when Diva Marlene's rare Spinet Yellow Diamond goes missing and Holly was the last one to see it, or so they thought.

Get to know and fall in love with each one of the Divas starting with Bead Of Doubt, A Divorced Diva Mini-Mystery, the prequel to Strung Out To Die, A Divorced Diva Mystery Novel.

“Carpe Bead'em is fun with a capital F. It's sad, funny, inspiring, quirky, and great chick lit! It shows that you never know what's round the corner, and anything's possible if you just take a chance on life! Perfect summer reading.” Bestselling author, Sibel Hodge
“I loved how Tonya Kappes was able to bring her characters to life.” Coffee Table Reviews

“I loved this book. Grandberry Falls is my kind of town and I for one would love to live there and get to know all the local folks. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read the next book about Grandberry Falls by Tonya Kappes. I have added Tonya Kappes as one of my new favorite authors.” Jean Segal

“I love it when I pick up a book because of its cover and the story to follow is just as great or better. That's what happened here.” Stephanie Overton

“I read this in a day and loved it! You felt that you were part of Grandberry Falls. The small town folks who know everyone and know everything about someone in a matter of hours.” Avid Reader

“This book was fun, entertaining and good to the last page. Who knew reading auras could get Olivia in so much trouble? Sit back, smile and cozy up to Splitsville.com, where Olivia does the dumping for you. There's heap loads of humor, a dose of magical realism, sprinkles of romance, and mystery when someone ends up dead!” Author Lisa Lim

“I was looking for something different and easy to read...meaning nothing too involved, something that if I put down could come back to and remember all the characters and where I left off at...well I didn't put it down I finished it in a day... what a great read !!” Cimarron

5.0 out of 5 stars fun & fresh January 8, 2013
By sparkle
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It is a mini-mystery short story. It introduces you to the characters "the divorced divas " and describes their relationships with each other. It also describes their personalities so you understand about them. It shows all their quirks & whet makes them who they are. (And Holly has a pet pig!) Really enjoyed it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute Story January 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This was a really cute story and I loved the pig, but I was really disappointed with the proofing. I don't think it was.:<
There were only a few places where words were left out or needed to be added, but I expected more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bead Of Doubt (A Divorced Diva Mini-Mystery) (Prequel) December 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I picked up Bead Of Doubt (A Divorced Diva Mini-Mystery) (Prequel) to read over the weekend. I immediately got involved in the lives of Holly Harper and her friends -The Divorced Divas. I loved Willow - the first pot-bellied pig I have read about as a pet. Holly and her friends are cleaning up her new store The Beaded Dragonfly so that it will be ready to open for business. A new friend wants Holly to design a bracelet to disguise her yellow spinet diamond. This is such a fun read. I read it in one sitting. There are twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end. It whets your appetite to read Strung Out to Die the first book in the Divorced Diva mystery series which is coming out soon. I can't wait to read more of this delightful new series by the fabulous Tonya Kappes.

Bead of Doubt was a great prequel to a new series by Tonya Kappes. The Divorced Divas are a quirky and fun group that will bring a smile to your face throughout the pages. I also loved the cute pot bellied pig named Willow. If you are looking for a fun, light hearted read then Tonya's books are the way to go!

5.0 out of 5 stars Did...not...see...that...coming. December 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Okay, I pride myself on being able to figure crap out before it hits the proverbial fan. I didn't see that twist at the end at all! Can't wait until the sequel so I can see what kind of mess Holly is going to find herself in:)

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute cozy short story January 2, 2013
By Melissa
Format:Kindle Edition
"Bead of Doubt" was a cute short story. It was an entertaining cozy mystery. Nothing mind blowing or intense. Pure fluff and fun. I loved that Holly had a pet pig. You can really begin to feel the "southern charm" Ms. Kappes adds to each of her books. I'm looking forward to reading "Strung Out to Die," Tonya Kappes full length follow up to "Bead of Doubt."

2 tiny criticisms #1 - I didn't understand what "the under" was. It took me a while to put together Holly was referring to the underside of a piece of furniture. I don't think I read what Holly meant by "the under" until I was about 30% into the story. #2 - minor editing issues. Unfortunately the teacher in me always seems to find the grammatical errors and/or missing or misuse of words.

2.0 out of 5 stars badly in need of good editing
There are so many grammatical errors and just plain wrong words in this. Have you ever heard of proof reading? The errors are very distracting.

Mostly liked the book. I don't think the author had to use the language; it didn't do anything for the plot.
