I was pointed towards this nature of item by a fellow artist of threads and needles, who has been using one for many years. Offhand, have to say it's wonderful. I hand-sew leather bags for my business, and this not only reduces the drag a bit, but also seems to make the stitches hold tighter, which I just love since it means less time pulling slack out of the stitches!

Note:
The artist also mentioned that after awhile the wax cakes inside start to crumble (likely due to the many small cuts into them from the thread), but she just melts and reforms them. She didn't specify how she got them in shape, but I should think there are plenty of jars, cups, etc that you could use as a basic disc mold by filling them only part way and letting the wax cool.

I never realized how much easier it is to work with thread during beading projects -- and my sewing projects -- to thread a tiny needle head in those beading needles that even a needle threader threatens to rip apart -- becomes with a bit of thread wax/conditioner! Wow! It doesn't get all static clingy to things, or tangle up together while sewing to the looped back pieces as you're pulling through, or when threading your needle through a cluster of beads conditioned/waxed bead thread acts totally different than not. Once I got used to it I was able to adjust my handholds and angle my pull so that I never have to go back to untangle my thread and my thread pulls my clusters exactly as I want them to be with the slightest tug.

I wish I had discovered this product years ago. I have not compared it with any of the more expensive thread conditioners/waxes, however, with the ease of use I found from straight regular thread to using this product (and the price difference between this product being so much cheaper and working so well compared to the rest of the products I viewed that seemed to contain mostly the same ingredients) I do not believe I'd be tempted to buy anything else, nor recommend any other brand.

Never knew this could make such a difference in sewing by hand. I would highly recommend this product to any one who sews by hand on a regular basis. I absolutely love the difference the thread conditioner makes when doing everyday mending and repairs.

This beeswax product is a good conditioner. It makes the thread sturdier and easier to get through a needle. I occasionally have problems getting the thread through the different parts of my Serger and this makes threading so much nicer and less frustrating. I have tried the hair spray trick which works, but there is spray all around and it must dry first. The wax is quick and easy.

This stuff is great. I read others complaining of crumbling wax and mine came quickly and is a must-have for anyone using hemp! I love the slits that keep you from handling the wax with your hands. I will be getting more for sure!

Decided to try this as I am a user of Thread Heaven. This was a complete waste of my time and money. The package was already opened and retaped...probably from another person returning the product......the wax was flaky and messy. Use Thread Heaven.......its way better!

Exactly as advertised. An old-fashioned way of conditioning thread for hand-quilting, etc, so it behaves better, and lasts longer. I still have a hardened one of these that my grandmother used in the late 1800's to the 1900's. Good price, too; thanks!

This works better than Thread Heaven and it is easier to use.
