Beaded Favors is a lovely little book for doing peyote stitch needlecases and amulet bags with beads. The clear directions, beautifully depicted patterns, and clever designs are as much fun to bead as in the first needlecase book, and this time Jennie Might has made patterns that can work as a front and back for each other, so you can make reversible bags. She has also filled the book with poems, quotes, and suggestions for little gifts to tuck into the bags or needlecases to make them special for a variety of occasions, even for people who don't use needles or carry amulets around. I have found these patterns quick and delightful to bead and great fun to watch take shape. I was disappointed in this book as it does not give any instructions for the amulet bags. The instructions are specifically for the needlecases. As a person who is fairly new to the peyote stitch, I need a more "how to's". It does not give any information about attaching fringe or straps either. It is definitely not a book for the beginner. However, I am going to keep the book, as I feel that as I get further along in the beading world, the designs will come in handy, and the finished projects are beautiful.

I was very disappointed in the book. The designs are cute and the finished examples in the back of the book are stunning, however, there are no directions for assembling the "treasure bags". I wish the author would've kept the poetry and concentrated on providing beading guidance. Will definitely not purchase her other books without taking a look inside first. Now I'll have to purchase still another book to get instructions for amulet or treasure bags.
