5.0 out of 5 stars It Is Worth It For Frankie Lee Sims Alone!, December 24, 2011

This review is from: 4th & Beale & Further South (Audio CD)
I purchased this cd for the Frankie Lee Sims tracks. These cuts are some of the greatest blues songs ever recorded...particularly "Walkin' With Frankie", "What Will Lucy Do?", and "She Likes to Boogie Real Low" (a re-working of the Louis Jordan "Blue Light Boogie"). The other songs on this cd are also quite nice, but the Frankie Lee material is special. Label-owner and former Specialty A&R man Johnny Vincent (John Vincent Imbragulio) was pretty consistent with his output. Frankie Lee Sims recorded most of these songs several times, but these are the definitive versions and currently the only place they can be found together. It is hard to imagine anyone who likes this type of music not being in love with this stuff.
