Practical and fun for regualr and special needs students,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bean Bag Activities & Coordination Skills (Audio CD)
I have used this music for many students int he past 10 years. I especially like to use it for students with motor skills difficulties. You hear the music and the instructions and then it is recorded without the instructions so that you can perform the activitiy as part of an assembly at school or perhaps at a parents night and have the instructions blarring. Special needs/EMH students REALLY enjoy the involvment and have a sense of belonging and peer-ship! The music sounds up to date and the instructions are easy to follow and not presented too quickly. There are many repetitions and the students are able to follow the simple activities. There is a leaflet included to show you the moves when the movement is not clear. This adds nicely to any PE program when the gym is not available and can be intergrated into your Music/Movement units as well.

pass the beanbag, please...,

When I started teaching preschool in 1992, I had this on record. It is great that it is on CD now. I can't say that I use all of the songs, but I have literally worn out "Pass the Beanbag". I can remember numerous days when the playground was wet, too hot, or the kids where just acting wild- when I would put this song on.
"Pass the Beanbag" is kind of like Hot Potato. Any size group of children sit in a circle on the floor. When the music stops, the person holding the bean bag has won the game. I have had MARATHON listens to "Pass the Bean Bag, until EVERYONE in the class has won. It can really help kill time when you are waiting for kids to be picked up at the end of the day - an there isn't anything to clean up!

I am a new Preschool teacher and I'm not too excited about Music and Movement. This CD is excellant for someone like me. The songs are fun and give easy directions for movement. I made bean bags to go with it. This CD teaches Music, Movement, Coordination, Colors and Math. It's not too bad to listen to either!

Nice activity, but little song variety,

This CD is fine for what it is. Passing the beanbag is a fun activity - especially for special needs children, but this is pretty much a one note song. Don't look for alot of creative ideas for games or activities to do with beanbags. Also, since half of the CD is instrumental versions of the same songs there is not much material here. I was hoping for alot more.

Beanbag CD,

My kids love this CD. We got it to use with some of our home school circle time activities. The directions are easy in the songs and the kids really get into the music. Even the 1 year old participates. There are 7 or 8 actual songs on the CD and then the other half of the CD is a repeat of the music without lyrics. I would have rather had more songs with directions for the kids. But the 7 or 8 songs work well for what we are doing.

Great for Kindergarten,

I teach kindergarten and use this CD every week. My students love Pass the Beanbag & Beanbag Catch. Both songs work great for students with all ability levels. The Beanbag Catch song us a good way for students to have to listen and control their beanbags becasue they are throwing (actually tossing) the beanbag to a partner. Beanbag parade is also another great song. My students always like to take turns being the leader and march around the classroom. The singing is very cheesey but the students love it so much that I don't notice it anymore.

I bought this CD after hearing it in my 3 yr olds class. He just loves it. The bean bag activities encourage movement and teach body parts and cordination. He also askes for the bean bag CD whenever we are in the car, and does the activities while sitting in his car seat.
