4.0 out of 5 stars Lose the buttons, and it's perfect
I had an earlier version of this laptop desk that I liked a lot. A seam came apart (after two years of constant use) and the styrofoam beans started escaping. When I purchased this one, I thought it was identical, but it has one big difference -- two buttons burrowed into the main "pillow" under the desk. Presumably, this is to help the pillow hold its shape, but as the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good product, sad design flaw
This is a very nice lap desk, is a great size for a Laptop, the cotton bean bag is cool and comfortable. Unfortunately, it has one fairly major design flaw, it has a nice handy handle at the top, but the designer chose to not include any bean bag under that last 2 inches at the top of the desk. I am sure that the thought was that room needed to be left for the handle to...

I had an earlier version of this laptop desk that I liked a lot. A seam came apart (after two years of constant use) and the styrofoam beans started escaping. When I purchased this one, I thought it was identical, but it has one big difference -- two buttons burrowed into the main "pillow" under the desk. Presumably, this is to help the pillow hold its shape, but as the other reviewer noted, this makes it very difficult to position the desk exactly the way you need it to sit on your lap. So I removed the buttons. It's perfect now. One big beanbag that I can mold any way I want so the desk is in a position that's comfortable and convenient for me. One of my favorite things about this desk is that you can position your computer over to one side and still have plenty of room to use a mouse. The surface of the desk makes a perfect mousepad. This is a very simple laptop desk -- no bells and whistles -- but it's all I need. I use it all day five days a week and am very happy with it.

Unfortunately, it has one fairly major design flaw, it has a nice handy handle at the top, but the designer chose to not include any bean bag under that last 2 inches at the top of the desk. I am sure that the thought was that room needed to be left for the handle to be used, but having no support at the top makes the entire desk and computer lean to the back, it is severe enough that the front feet of my laptop don't rest on the desk at all. I am going to attempt to correct the problem myself, rather than try to buy another one, as this was a nice one in my price range.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Relief, October 25, 2007

This was a great buy for me because I have a nice big recliner and go to school online. I have searched for all kind of laptop tables, small computer desks, and even the 30 dollar white table the changes different heights. This was the best; it is affordable, and large for my Toshiba wide screen 19' laptop. My legs are no longer hot from my laptop and it is like a mini but lightweight desk on my legs. I just put my feet up and lay this on my legs and do homework for hours. It is a good buy, reasonably priced and did not take long to ship to me.

2.0 out of 5 stars After several months of use we're looking for something else..., September 7, 2007

This product is close to being good, however the bean-bag padding on the bottom is not thick/full enough to ensure the desk doesn't scrape your legs and knees when used in the sitting position. Other than that these are great, but after months of chafed knees for both my wife and myself we're shopping for something better.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best laptop pad, May 30, 2009

I bought this pad 4-5 years ago, used it daily and I absolutely love it. I can see why some people would like to have beans in the front side, it would be helpful but it's not a big deal for me. I can easily adjust the beans to keep the pad level. My girlfriend liked it so much, I had to buy one for her too. I'm seriously thinking to buy another one just in case one of them breaks and they don't manufacture it anymore, although it's holding up really well after so many years.

The idea is really a good one here, however, may not have been properly planned out. I purchased this product about 2 months ago, within those first two months I started noticing little white beans (if you will) spilling from the seams. This problem started as a minor one, and quickly turned into a major problem. I am a student. I use this item daily! Being on my laptop for school is a necessity. I thought this would solve everything! Boy was I wrong. Looking back on this purchase I doubt I would have bought it. The thought is great, the craftsmanship...simply sucks!

1.0 out of 5 stars Great concept - but poor product., July 11, 2008
This review is from: New Beanbag Laptop/Notebook/Computer Keyboard Table (Office Product)
Below I am responding to each of the features found in the product description:

1. "Our beanbagTable offers comfortable conforming support for your laptop computer." - It conformed so much that the top of the table kept hitting my knees and I was constantly readjusting it

2. "Also enables you to recline in a chair with your desktop's keyboard in your lap." - It does do that however the stuffing kept moving and I would have to get up and readjust it many times because the buttons that supposed to hold the stuffing came loose.

3. "Tapered pillow provides an excellent angle for working" - One of the buttons that helps keep it tapered came loose so the stuffing kept moving and so again I had to readjust the pillow

4. "we've heard that the wrist rest is ergonomically better." it does if there is enough stuffing which mine did not come with

5. "Rigid non-skid molded top includes pencil trays and is backed with a durable canvas duck beanbag for years of service." It can't be that durable if the seam came apart after 3 months and is spilling little beans all over our floor, so it's now in the trash.

2.0 out of 5 stars I wish the non skidding surface was higher above the middle section, April 14, 2008

This lap desk is very comfortable but unfortunately there is little space for fans to suck air and my computer gets quite hot. I wish the non skidding surface was higher above the middle section.

Like others, I also had a problem with the beans escaping. I really liked this desk up to that point.

The beanbag laptop table works well for me, keeps the heat of the laptop off my thighs/knees and allows some circulation for the laptop itself.
