3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty but Not Much There July 17, 2013

This is a "formula" game that doesn't make much of an effort to really shine. Very pretty pictures, but the puzzles basically consist of a bunch of not-even-themed objects semi-realistically scattered over a scene. The result looks more like a rummage sale or litter than a magical place, and there is no plot to help your suspension of disbelief by providing an explanation that you are cleaning up the place or gathering needed items, as in some similar games.

Game play is equally uninspired. As other reviewers have noted, the lack of scroll and zoom, combined with high-res images make this primarily usable on tablets and large-screen phones. If you can actually see the objects, game play is solid, if conventional. I got bored before I needed to use the hint feature, so I do not know how useful it is.

Regarding permissions and security, this app wants to start at boot, and requires an Internet permission even though there is no discernable need for it in actual game play. This combination seems suspect to me, and even if it is not data mining, I don't need a game using up battery or slowing down my restarts by running when I haven't asked it to.

There are better and less squirrely hidden object games. Not impressed with this FAOTD. Uninstalling and removing from my Cloud.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money. May 14, 2013

The point of a hidden object game is to be able to find the objects in the picture. This game is lousy at it. I deleted the game after the third screen. Although designed for the Android, it has major flaws directly related to the platform. Only the first screen of the three I played had a zoom capability, and none of them allow scrolling. The lack of scrolling was especially vexing on the second screen, when one of the items I was seeking was literally behind an on-screen button. The only way to "find" it was to follow the trail of sparkles from the hint button, and then randomly click around the edges of the other button until I was lucky enough to grab it. Some items are in or behind other items -- but don't even try to find them because the other item will tell you it's the wrong place to look until the item it's hiding is the last one you need to complete a key object. The key object concept means that the pictures of the items you're looking for are tiny (you click one item on the screen to see a group of even smaller pictures) -- sometimes I couldn't even tell what the object was, and with no zoom I was just out of luck. The last straw was when the hint for an item was that it wasn't on that page; I would have to go to another page (it didn't say which one) to get it and then come back.

3.0 out of 5 stars Short and simple July 17, 2013

I got this as the faotd and I am glad that I did not pay for it. I worked through the 16 levels in about 30 minutes and that included an interruption or two. The backgrounds were beautiful but the objects weren't really that hidden. It was almost like my kids dumped out their toyboxes on a pretty picture and then gave me a list of things to find.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Objects Magical Places June 9, 2013

The game is fun, however, the picture is so small on the Kindle fire, it makes it hard at times to see the objects. It would be better if you could enlarge the picture.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Objects May 20, 2013

This game is fun but I finished it in one day, replaying wasn't at all exciting because I remembered where everything was. I really thought this app was a continuous game play where the company continues to change the objects to find and makes it harder. The game was fun while it lasted, but not worth the .99˘

2.0 out of 5 stars You need a magnifying glass! July 17, 2013

I have this on a KindleFire 8.9 screen and have a hard time seeing the objects because they are so small. It only goes vertically on the screen and will not display horizontally where the objects would be bigger, and I find no way to zoom. I would think it would be impossible to play on a smaller screen. I was glad it was the FAOD when I got it and I did not waste my money.

Enough already with the "hidden object" games where the "objects" are just randomly vomited onto background pictures with no real effort to actually make it clever. The kids magazine "Highlights for Children" did a better job of it. Seriously, this is not "designed" at all--it is just random.

"Ohhhh shiny look at the pretty colors!" doesn't work with me.

Oh and full network access? If justifed as part of the game that is one thing, otherwise if it is just to advertise your endless clones of this same game then it is asking me to take too much risk especially when this is supposed to be a full version.

3.0 out of 5 stars Glad it was free July 17, 2013

It's ok. I played the whole thing in 15 minutes. Every scene is different, but most of the objects to find are the same in every one. For a free game, I give it 3 stars.
