We purchased 3 of these sets for our Junior Church Day Camp.
The bows have enough draw weight to be difficult but not impossible for most of the 7-12 year old kids.
Many had never drawn a bow and were able to draw and release after 4 practice shots.

Most of the experienced 10-12 year old boys prefered the larger bow, but were able to compete with these.

This is exactly what we wanted.
An inexpensive way to give the kids a first experience in archery.

No complaints. Very basic, yet does the trick, 1st bow. My son is almost 9 and I'm sure he'll be able to use this for a long while. If you want an inexpensive bow for any age, to learn on, I can't think of any reason why you'd be disappointed with this. It's much bigger than I would have expected. Great deal!!!!

This bow functions well for what I expected. I bought the compound bow for my 5 year old son and this Bear archery kit for my 3 year old son. He is slowly getting the hang of it and wants to learn how to shoot like his big brother. The arrows that come with the bows are decent. Overall I am happy and would recommend this product.

Our daughter is turning 6 soon and we had asked her what she was wanting. She kept talking about "shooting an arrow." We started to look at bows for her and she saw this saying that it was what she wanted. We opened our package to check over everything and we very happy with the results. This is perfect for a child that is her size, she is the shortest and lightest in her kindergarten class. I am overjoyed with the results and can't wait for her to start using it.

My boys really love these. They have just started getting into archery so these bows are a perfect first time bow for any kid.

I'm not sure about the reviews rating this bow as usable.
The arrows are so light, so short and the bow so small that most shots end up going awry in scary directions.

If I bought arrows of better quality it may be more usable but then I would simply upgrade the whole kit. I am more afraid of turning my daughter off to a wonderful sport by becoming frustrated with something that is impossible to aim.

Our set was bought on sale for 15 Dollars. I am going to buy a much better beginner set before she gets discouraged. In hindsight I would have gotten something better.

My 7 year old grandson loves this bow and arrow set. It's his first "real" bow and arrow. The price was reasonable and the merchandise is sturdy. A great buy!

We got this bow for our son's 5 year old birthday. He loves it and it works well for him. I didn't think he would be able to pull it back but he did just fine.

It will be okay as like a play toy for my 6 year old...but she isn't going to really learn anything as it doesn't have a sight. I guess aim and hope it hits? I'm used to having a sight...maybe I was just spoiled? For an older person you can't really pull back hard enough for it to go far...seems if you did pull back harder it would snap...so don't expect to be able to shoot the arrow far.
