I read a lot of reviews on a lot of sights about the Bear Outbreak. There were some negative reviews but I have found nothing about which to complain. I have 10 nieces and nephews, 9 in my immediate area. I can adjust it easily for the smallest child (15# draw weight, 16" draw length) and then back for myself (I'm 6'4" 250#s and I need the 30" draw length and prefer the 70# draw weight). I read one review in which the reviewer said the cams were loose. I did not find that true at all. I found everything tight. I had some problems getting the impact point to move to the right because I'm a novice with compound bows and bow sights. I ended up having to move the whisper biscuit in order to get the point of impact to come right far enough. But it was not hard to accomplish and once done, I was able to hit the 4" bullseye almost every time at 15 yards. Understand I'm not an accomplished archer. I'm a rank beginner. I am really impressed with this bow. Although I have tons of room for improvement, it seems to me that this was a pretty easy entry into a sport that seemed daunting to me prior to this purchase. And considering what you can pay for a bow, this is a bargain. I got it with the sight, whisper biscuit, stabilizer and quiver and I would definitely do the same again. I got a dozen inexpensive arrows, already with fletching, and got field tips for them. I got some better Gold Tip arrows with muzzy broadheads in case I decide I want to try hunting. Bottom line, I'm very happy I got the Outbreak and I look forward to shooting it (especially with the young 'uns) for a long time to come.

After much deliberation and endless days comparing bows and prices I settled on this bow. I am not new to the sport having been an archer and hunter from the age of 4 yes 4 literally. Grew up on horses and bows, hunting was always there. That was some 48 years ago. In this price range I had it narrowed down to this or the infinite edge pkg. I went with Bear because they have always produced good to great products. This is no exception. I am quite pleased with my new bow (left hand version). There have been zero issues with it and I expect it will continue this way for years to come. The bow is easy to setup, the adjustable points are easy to adjust and changing draw strength and lengths is a breeze. The bow is accurate I constantly get split arrows at 50 yards and groups of less than 2 inches as long as I am not tired. The bow is awesome in adjusting out all the way down to 15 pounds and back to 70 with just a few turns of an Allen wrench. The 80 percent let off is great and with the right arrow you can actually get fps speed up 15 fps beyond the advertised 108.. Top so far has been 123 with carbon express speed freak arrows and 100 gr tips with 30 inch arrows. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a bow and I would buy this again over any bow out there selling for under around 600 dollars. Bear is a solid company with a rich history that goes way back. Buy it, shoot it and bring home the deer and feral piggies. Maybe even a moose or an elk along with an occasional bear or two....

Best price anywere on this set up. Very fast shipping. This bow was just as advertised changing the draw length was easy as well as the draw weight and it comes with the complete set up ready to put it to work all you have to find is arrows. I wanted a bow to get started in this sport and not have to spend a lot to do it and this bow fit the bill. I have no complaints or regrets other than I wish I had owned one sooner

I am Gayle's husband Russ. After researching bows to purchase for Gayle I bought the Bear Outbreak during a Black Friday sale 2014 at our Bass Pro Shops/ Dania Florida. It was critical for my wife to have a pleasant first experience but have it at the right price point. The Dania Bass Pro Shops bow department manager Dennis personally vouched for the quality of the Outbreak. Dennis had previously proved to me his intimate knowledge of archery equipment and whose opinion I trust. Dennis also brought up the point that Bear archery has outstanding customer service and support. Dennis custom fitted the Outbreak to my wife and gave her valuable shooting form instructions. My wife and I went to the in-store range. At 36# draw weight and almost no experience my wife shot a bullseye at 23.5 yards with other arrows hitting close. Arrows flew perfectly down range.

Shooting the bow I found the wall slightly spongy at this 36# draw weight. The Outbreak does not use a post style string stop. However, the wall feels solid enough to provide the feeling of a wall. My daughter shoots an older Hoyt Reezen , and is really impressed with how smooth the Outbreak is. I have been shooting compounds for around 40 years. I currently own two Matthew Conquest set up for target, and a PSE Dream EVO for hunting. I am a bit bothered to own these high dollar bows only to purchase an “entry level?” bow for my wife and find I can shoot tight groups with the Outbreak with even with her draw length too short for me. The Outbreak very forgiving due to its liberal brace height.

Personally, if I was just starting out I would gladly purchase this bow to hunt with. The Bear Outbreak is that smooth, quiet, and accurate, and is plenty fast enough shooting the right arrow.
