Great bow stringer and here is why...,

This review is from: Bear Archery Recurve Bow Stringer (Sports)
This recurve bow stringer does a great job. It has a extra long lower limb pocket which holds the string in place perfectly and greatly reduces the chances of limb twist. The upper limb pressure pad is nice and wide and easy to move/adjust for just the right pressure point on the upper limb. The pad width and design also helps to prevent limb twist. The string is heavy duty and should hold up even with those heavy draw weight bows. As for the string knots- a bowline knot, in my opinion, works much better and is a easy change to make if you do so before using the stringer for the first time and before the factory knots become really tight. As for the stitching issue in another review- even if all the stitching were to be removed the stringer would still work. BTW... the stitching on my stringer looks to be of good quality. As for no instructions being supplied with the bow stringer being an issue- really? Why would anyone even purchase a recurve or longbow and not first learn how to string the bow. The bow stringer is just a tool and they pretty much only work one way depending on the design. You either have two limb pockets, one long and one short, which are normally used for stringing longbows or one long limb pocket and one pressure pad which are normally used for stringing recurve bows. It's kinda like buying a hammer and giving a bad review because you don't know how to use it. Hope this review helps to clear up some misconceptions about the Bear Recurve Bow Stringer.

My local bow shop was sold out of stringers, and I hate stringing my 55# bow by "leg" so I bought this stringer here. It is a good solid stringer, and is well-constructed. It also costs ~twice as much as other stringers.

Bear Archery Recurve Bow Stringer,

This review is from: Bear Archery Recurve Bow Stringer (Sports)
I purchased the Bear Archery Recurve Bow Stringer as a birthday gift for my son. He received it promptly. Unfortunately the first time he attempted to string his bow (a Bear) the stitching on one of the leather end pieces of the stringer ripped and separated. This piece of equipment proved totally useless and a complete waste of money. In addition no instructions were received with the stringer making an online search necessary to even attempt to use it.
