My husband has wanted this jacket for a long time. But anyone familiar with Bear Grylls knows his clothing line is not cheap! I agree it's excellant quality, it can take any abuse my husband can dish out and still look great. Amazon's price made it that much more appealing. The jacket is great. It fits well and is comfortable and does not hinder your movement at all. No bulk, but plenty of warmth! My husband wore it on a 4wheeling trip in the snow. He came home with the jacket looking hammered, but a quick trip through the wash and it's as good as new.

I like the look and feel of this jacket. I'm 6'3" 190 and the XL fits well. I wear a 36/37 dress shirt and would like the sleeves to be another 1/2 in longer, but not too short to complain. It's construction seems solid and i can't wait for the rain and snow.

i bought the jacket on sale on amazon and i have to say that it was the best money i ever spent on a jacket. i use for atv-ing, and lots of other outdoor activities and i am very satisfied with it. what o love about this brand is that they offer the lifetime warranty on their products.one thing i just learned and everybody should know and keep in mind is that waterproof clothing has to be washed with waterproof detergent otherwise, using just regular detergent will make the clothes become less waterproof. thumbs up Bear Grylls and Craghoppers!

I agree with some of the other reviewers. the quality of the jacket is nice, but the sizing/proportion of the jacket (size med) is off. The jacket is too tight across the chest and shoulder area, and the arm holes (armpit area) are way too small. Wearing just a t-shirt, the jacket felt like it was pinching my armpits, and restricted any arm movement. Had to return it.

Great product. Keeps out the elements while looking good.

Only nit is that it lacks arm vents to remain comfortable as temps rise.

My Hubbie is an avid Bear Gryll's fan and after spotting this jacket on one of the shows: we were on the hunt. Thankfully, Amazon stocked this and it was on prime, otherwise the delivery would have taken 10+ days from Europe (Bear's own clothes website does not have any US stores as of yet).

The jacket is light and not bulky, has a hood that is actually functional! There are a lot of pockets to store essentials and are well designed that does not bulk out the jacket. Very stylish and although the sleeves were long for him, there is a velcrose to fix the sleeve and we dont have to roll it up! The medium size had plenty of room for a sweater, if need be. I dont think there were any discrepancies between a European size medium and a US medium - dont need to get a larger size (unless you are in denial!).

The sizing does run small. According to sizing, i should have got a medium, but after reading the reviews, i took a chance on the large - and it fits perfect! Tons of pockets and features are great! FYI - One thing i didn't realize, and i don't think is very clear in the description, is this jacket isn't insulated. It is a shell/windbreaker type jacket.

I bought this jacket in XXL. Being an impossible male cloths hound and outdoor nut, I am fortunate to have a lot of outerwear. This is by far the smallest XXL ever! There is no room for anything except a shirt underneath.

The design is great but the execution is flawed. The *&^%$# zipper is balky and requires some fussing to use it.

I got this today and i'm immediately in love with it. First off, it is this isnt a winter jacket by itself. It can be a very good winter jacket you just need layers. For instance i just wear a normal north face fleece under it and it keeps me very warm!
This jacket is made of a nice materiel, it might looks sorta raincoat/plastic in the pictures. But it feels much softer then that. But at the same time it is very waterproof.
People saying it runs small might be right. But for me most clothes seem to run extra small. Im 6'2'' 155lbs. So im not really big, its just that my arms are long and my torso is long. So i was concerned about a large fitting. I got the large and i have to say im very happy i didn't go with the XL. The large fits near perfectly! Its a good length, not to long, not to short. the same with the sleeves. they go about half way from my wrist to my knuckles.
If you are looking for a fall type of jacket to use as a wind breaker and out where it might be wet, this jacket is supreme! especially for the price. Also if you are looking for a more winter type jacket, all you have to do is combine this with a good warm fleece and you are good to go.

The Bear Grylls Mountain jacket is a wonderful jacket for outdoor activity. It is rather light though, so if the weather is cold you will probably want to wear something warm beneath it. The jacket fits true to size. It has bungees throughout the entire jacket (including the hood) to tighten everything and make it fit well. I love the velcro on the sleeves...this allows for the sleeves to fit a lot of people, despite the length of their arms. (My arms are short, and I was able to bunch up the sleeves and adjust the velcro cuffs to fit me well) The collar can be a tad bit awkward because of its size (but that is due to having the folded up hood inside), but it's really not a big problem. I wish the hood was removable! (but no such luck-oh well..that's ok since it folds into a velcro compartment.) The jacket is extremely light, and folds up nicely for a person to put in a backpack for hiking. Overall, I highly recommend this jacket!
