Fabric is so light.

Upon further inspection (on day ONE) I noticed that literally EVERYWHERE the stitching was coming undone.

I have purchased 3 of these pants (two from Amazon and one directly from Craghoppers) and thus I am assured they were not merely "lemons."

I am not sure whether Bear Grylls either replaces these pants each episode or they were simply made better during his stint on Man vs. Wild but these pants are a COMPLETE DISASTER.

On my first weekend outing (two simple overnights backpacking on designated trails only) the first pair began to fall apart. The stitching along the crotch came undone and traveled the entire gusset of the pant. The interior button (the second-securing-one) came right off (it's not a reinforced button like the main outer one). Upon further inspection (on day ONE) I noticed that literally EVERYWHERE the stitching was coming undone. I was forced to make multiple repairs with textile glue and sewing. I then switched to my backup pair for the next day. And guess what. THE SAME THING HAPPENED AFTER MERE HOURS OF EASY, TRAIL-ONLY WEAR. No scrambling, no climbing, nothing. Mere walking. That's all.

I have also used the 4-way stretch version of these pants. SAME RESULT. So either they are currently made to fail immediately or Bear Grylls doesn't wear anything made after 2011 for these WILL NOT protect you at all in any setting, let alone a SURVIVAL setting.

Thankfully I ordered the first two pair from Amazon and was able to return them within the 30 day window. Amazon was utterly amazing at assisting me, refunding my ENTIRE purchase including shipping. So in essence, DO NOT BUY THESE PANTS. Many Craghopper products are top-notch (such as the Bear Trek Long-sleeved Shirt--literally the best outdoor shirt on the market)

I have many products from Bear Grylls and normally would trust his choices for outerwear but I cannot condone that any individual buys these. They will fail you. And sadly, that might happen when you need them most.

Worst pants I've ever had. First week after receving them, I went hiking (21 miles in two days) and despite the fact that there was a trail, had no climbing or difficult terrain, the pants unsaw and shreded in the low part of the boot and the butt. I've being using The North Face and Marmot pants for several years and by far those are better deal (for rock climbing, hiking and camping). Don't waste your money on this. Bear Grylls can't wear this cheap product and should remove his name from it.
Bear Gryll's Knifes are ok so far though.

These are very nice pants for traveling but they certainly are not survival pants. They are equivalent to eddie bauer pants, the kind that zip off at the knee. Don't expect some super tough fabric. If you want survival pants you will have to pay in the 300 dollar range, for another manufacturer, e.g. Northface etc.

These are great for hiking, camping and in my opinion are very comfortable, also probrably the most lightweight pants I own wich makes them very breatheable another good thing is that they dry super quick because of the 100% polyester material other than cotton on most casual pants. If you are looking to buy these make sure you get one size up e.g. I am a size 32 so I got a size 34 and they fit perfectly. Overall these pants are a great product that is well worth the money and I can not think of any bad things off the top of my head. Oh and also these pants have 8 or 9 pockets 2 of them being zipper pulls and these are very large and great for storing any survival tools. Ok so, in conclusion all I can say is. BUY THESE.

I like to go hiking and camping, these pants did the trick and then some. They dry extremely fast, and are very durable. On top of all of that, they fit very comfortably.

I love the styling of these pants and for the type of outdoor activities I do they are perfect. However, After only two washings the thread along all the seams started fraying. And after sitting on a skid pad surface on a boat the fabric actually started to fray a bit. They need to sew them better and use better materials in the future.

These pants seemed to be exactly what my husband wanted and for a couple of months they were great. But the quality is clearly substandard. The seam around the crotch started to fray and separate and eventually split. It seemed to be from washing and not from the actual wearing of the pants. They also fit slightly odd - tight up top around the waist.
