Not the same,

The music that originally got me interested in this band was from the album "Down But Not Out". Even though there is considerable lyrical similarities between that album and this one; they have a completely different style. This album sounds bland in comparison. Sadly Amazon does not offer "Down But Not Out" in cd format. So those of us who have good stereo equipment will not be able to hear the full depth of the music.

Can't Stop Singing...,

This review is from: Bears (Audio CD)
I can't say that I have ever written a review before, even though many albums have been worth writing about. I first came across this band when I went to visit a friend of mine at Oakland University. He just happened to be roommates with JP (Guitar) and Ryan (Bass). After meeting the band, with the exception of Rob, I hoped for big things for these guys. Then I heard about the signing and knew a new album wasn't to far off. When it finally came out, I had to give it a listen. I can honestly say, I find myself singing the songs everywhere I go. Every song is extremely catchy, upbeat, and the lyrics are great. I totally suggest picking up a copy.
With that said: Bay City still owns you Rochester! lol. Favorite Songs: I Don't Wanna Go Back In The Bag Affirmative! New York City The Wedding

Alright. I don't remember exactly how i found out about these guys, but I gave a listen pretty much because I thought their album title "BEARS!" was awesome. And I hoped, as I'm sure most people will, that it is a stephen colbert reference. Anyways, I don't think i've ever been so surprised by a band i'd never heard of until 5 minutes before I listened to their stuff. The vocals are fantastic, it's extremely catchy and for the most part very upbeat. And the most interesting thing to note is, for a record in this genre, the lyrics are excellent. Overall, an unbelievable effort. Please give it a listen and buy it. I can't wait to start telling people about these guys.
Favorite songs so far: I don't wanna go back in the bag New York City Go get a switch and turn yourself on Uptight in the middle of the night But don't get me wrong, there isn't a bad song on this record
