Her concise step by step directions are easy to grasp, allowing the possibility for anyone to be successful at making a quilt. Eleanor Burns gave quiltmakers techniques that compacted months into merely a day, a quilt in a day, spreading her vibrant enthusiasm within everyone. She has motivated thousands of want-to-be quilters with needed confidence and assurance. Altogether, the impact of her influences opened the door to a renewal. Her efforts sowed the seeds that have grown into many techniques that are commonly used today. They recently re-ran this series on RFD TV and, being a new quilter, I hadn't seen it before. Was so glad to find the companion book. There are 4 different blocks in this quilt and the instructions in this book is for each individual block with project ideas for each (table runners, lap quilts, etc.,) and then for putting the whole thing together if you want a full size quilt. As always, Eleanor Burns instructions are clear, concise and easy to understand. Happy Quilting! KC

I saw this quilt at a local quilt show and realized it would be perfect for my daughter's vacation home near Yosemite. Of course I did! Sane reflection did not enter into it. But I'm going to make it for her because (wait for the drum roll) it's designed by ELEANOR BURNS! That means the directions will be clear and it will sew up as promised.
Not to worry.

I love this book and the directions.
I think any book by Eleanor Burns is terrific; and I
own many of them. I would recommend this book and
any book by this author.

I love all of Eleanor Burns books, but this one is special. It not only gives the clear, understandable instructions we've come to expect from Ms. Burns, but the quilt on the cover is not the only project in the book. She uses the various elements in the cover quilt to give ideas for additional quilts - log cabin ideas, flying geese ideas, and more. This book is more of a primer that will help you create many more designs of your own. A must for your quilting library!

She always gives us something fun to do, but this book is themed for those of us that love the outdoors. If one wants to bring the outdoors in and enjoy a rustic feel with ones own touch of forest and wildlife this book with a major project also offers wonderful small ways to adapt lessons to smaller projects. I just loved it!!
Eleanor Burns at her best.

I Have been collecting Eleanor Burns quilting books lately and cannot wait to start this quilt. My brother and his wife love 'blue' colors and this would be just right in their house in the woods! Eleanor's step by step instructions are good for even the beginning quilter to follow.

Beautiful book all the way through. Once again, Eleanor Burns knocks it out of the park with her easy techniques and excellent illustrations. This book appeals to both primative as well as modern quilters.
