About the Author

Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father's paintings of historic English battles which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father's office. Adam’s father said they were a Blade family heirloom.

Sadly, Adam does not have his own Ice Dragon or Ghost Panther. But he really wishes he did!

More About the Author

Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father's paintings of historic English battles - which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father's office. Adam's father said they were a Blade family heirloom. As a boy, Adam would spend days imagining who could have first owned the sword and shield. Eventually, he created a character - Tom, the bravest boy warrior of them all. The idea for Beast Quest was born. hen Adam grew up and decided that he wanted to be a writer, he was stuck for ideas - until he remembered the old sword and shield, and the imaginary boy he had created when he was young. Adam decided to bring Tom fully to life so that readers could go on the kind of adventures that he always wanted to when he was that age... And still does, even though he's grown up! When he's not writing Beast Quest books, Adam enjoys visiting museums and ancient battle sites. His main hobbies are fencing and football. He also spends a lot of time at home running around after his two exotic pets - a tarantula named Ziggy, and a capuchin monkey named Omar. These little rascals were the inspiration for two of the Beasts that Tom faces on his Quest - Arachnid and Claw. adly, Adam does not have his own Fire-Dragon or Horse-Man. But he really wishes he did!

I have a 1st grader who reads at the 4th grade level. While his reading skills are great, he is still only 6 and his topics of interest are ...well, the interests of a 6-year-old boy. My son LOVES this series. He curls up with them and reads them on his own, and yet still loves to have them read aloud. Best of all, his dad and I don't mind reading them aloud --- we love them too.

Beast Quest #3. Easy reading. Good fantasy and short. My son wasn't a big reader, but this was interesting and short enough to get him started.

The book arrived in brand new condition, the day before its ETA (which was in 2 days) and my son really enjoys these books so what more can you want. The only suggestion I have is that since these are smaller books and very inexpensive, I recommend buying more then one at a time because my son finishes them pretty fast. He is in 6th grade. He started reading them in 5th grade and reads at least 30 min a day so 1 book will last approximately a week at an average reading speed. I buy 2 or 3 at a time at least. The good news is there is like over 50 books in the series. Im not exactly sure how many but its a lot so you'll have a while before your child has read them all and my son has read the first 5 and is not bored with them yet so we shall see. Enjoy!

Ordered this book for my son. It came within 3 days, and he read it immediatly and loved it. While I'm sure it's not great literature, any book that a 9 year old boy will devour is wonderful in my opinion. Also ordered two books from this series at a slightly lower price from Smoky Mountain Books. It took 27 days for them to arrive! They must not have had them in stock, or else they put them on the back of a donkey for the trip from Tennessee to Maryland. Wish I'd just stuck with Amazon to begin with. Their service has always been great. I have also had good luck buying from individuals...but dealers like Smoky Mountain have been a disappointment.

My 9-year-old son loves to read for pleasure, and this series is quite a hit with him. The stories are interesting for kids (I haven't read them all, but it's basic fantasy, brave young people take on the responsibility of facing down monsters in order to save life as we know it without the aid of adults), but also not too complicated, so they're fairly easy to summarize for book reports as well.

Great book for kids... I'm reading this together with my 10 year old and he's enjoying it a lot (me too:) ... It's perfect for his age too bc it has just enough new vocabulary for him to learn new words while still understanding most of the story (of course, my son's first language is not English so keep that in mind!).
