This figure is Optimus Primal from the popular Beast Wars TV series. This Japanese version, unlike many other japanese Beast Wars figures, is less show accurate then it's American counterpart. The parts that are supposed to be a purplish brown that make up his robot mode chest and shoulders are more of a translucent redish purple.

If you're reading this review you are more then likely a collector like me and you already know this figures features and capabilities. Primal is very poseable and has a pretty easy transformation that consists mostly of turning his body and fists around, and flipping over his legs and head. His beast mode has a lot of blue chrome, he shoots missiles from a mini, rocket-like pistol. The missiles double as clubs/maces. He has three modes: robot, beast, and 'vehicle' which is actually just a flying surfboard monkey thing.

The US version is more show accurate but if you prefer or don't mind the color variation in his shoulders and robot torso he is a great purchase. Highly recommended for the Beast Wars collector.
