5.0 out of 5 stars This game is the best for transformer fans
Hasbro has done a GREAT job with the game. The only problem is that people who do not like beast wars hate it. It is very fun and is cool because you can play with 10 characters such as: Inferno, Megatron, Waspinator, Scorponok, Terrorsaur, Rattrap, Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Rhinox, and Dinobot. This game is really cool. It gets better and better for each level. One...

When I first got the game years ago I thought it was a little difficult. A few years makes a lot of difference! I really do enjoy the game now. Admittedly the graphics are dated - hence the 5* FUN but 3* OVERALL, and you have no capacity to attack in animal mode though the often do in the show. The control scheme is easy to use and becomes second nature. The levels are...

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Beast Wars (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
Hasbro has done a GREAT job with the game. The only problem is that people who do not like beast wars hate it. It is very fun and is cool because you can play with 10 characters such as: Inferno, Megatron, Waspinator, Scorponok, Terrorsaur, Rattrap, Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Rhinox, and Dinobot. This game is really cool. It gets better and better for each level. One problem is that it is very CHALLENGING! The thing that bugs you is that you can't stay in robot mode for long because of these radiation filled crystals called energon. You have an energon meter in the game. It tells you how much longer you can stay in robot mode without getting hurt(Energon hurts you). But it all pays off when you get Inferno to fly, or kill Dinobot, or even unlock a charactor like Rattrap. Personally I like to use Inferno because he has a cool weapon and that he flies. He uses an electric pulse pistol that can hit anything. The only bad thing about Inferno is that he can't stay in robot mode for long...The only way [the aiming] is bad if you turn off the auto aim....It is one of the best games I've ever played...

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Transmetals for the N64!, August 12, 2001
This review is from: Beast Wars (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
This is the best game ever made! The graphics are awesome (unless you have a big computer screen like mine.) On the box it says that there are ten Transformers to use but in the instructions it gives you the impression that there are twelve Transformers (I'm not quite sure which is correct I only know of Megatron, Scorponok, Tarantulas, Inferno, Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Rhinox, and Dinobot. I think you can only use Terrorsaur and Airazor in the rescue missions. I guess I'll find out eventually! There are eight rescue missions in which you can rescue a lost Transformer (In other words one who died) by collecting a Rescue Mission token with a flying Transformer (such as Inferno) and you get to destroy the enemy ship and rescue the Transformer. There are also twenty four regular missions or episodes. These are HARD. I've only beaten the first three Pred levels and the first Maximal level. I really like this game and I reccomend that any Beast Wars fan should get it.

5.0 out of 5 stars If it was this VS. Transmetals 64, this would win!, August 14, 2001

This game rules!!! The graphics are amazing (unless you have a big monitor like mine!) In the beginning it shows the Axalon (the Maximal ship) and the Predacon ship (they never gave their ship a name) crashing down to Earth with actual footage from the TV show! It then explains about Energon-a crystal used for power-and how it can be harmful if there is a high content. They create beast forms to protect themselves from the long-term effects of the Energon. On the case it says there are ten playable characters but there are actually twelve playable characters (Airazor and Terrorsaur can only be used in rescue missions.) This is a list of charaters in the game- Optimus Primal-a gorilla, Cheetor-a cheetah, Dinobot-a Velociraptor, Rhinox- a Rhino, Rattrap (a secret character)-a rat, Megatron-a T-Rex, Scorponok-a scorpion, Inferno-a fire ant, Tarantulas-a tarantula, Blackarachnia (also a secret character)-a black widow spider. *Note* If you're a fan of Tigatron or Waspinator don't be disappointed that they're not in the game. This game is highly accurate to the show it even has a little computer voice that comes out automatically and says "Energon resistance low, Transform immeadiatly." I love this game and any Beast Wars fan should too.

This is a port of an earlier Playstation game, and pretty much beats the PSX version in all departments. The resolution is better, and the sound is FAR superior, both in quality and in the syncing (None of the out of step footsteps that plagued the PSX version). Lots of big robots, big guns, and big explosions accent what is, in my mind, the perfect fusion of a Megaman Legends style exploration game and an action packed shooter.

= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Beast Wars (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
When I first got the game years ago I thought it was a little difficult. A few years makes a lot of difference! I really do enjoy the game now. Admittedly the graphics are dated - hence the 5* FUN but 3* OVERALL, and you have no capacity to attack in animal mode though the often do in the show. The control scheme is easy to use and becomes second nature. The levels are expansive and once I lost a character to poly clipping and they feel through a bridge but overall its great.

I had Win98 when I first purchased it and now am running WinXPHome. Setting it for Win98 compatibility allows it to run problem free. I wish that Primal and Inferno had, at least limited flight, even if it led to rapidly increased energon poisoning. And if the bots had a way to drop homing beacons that would also be helpful because the map could use a bit of distinction.

But overall a great game for TransFans. And I'd assume it would've been relatively simple to convert to a more modern G1 game since vehicles rarely do require the ability to attack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beast Wars PC Game, December 13, 2003
This review is from: Beast Wars (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
I loving every minute of pulse pounding action in Beast Wars Transformers. The game is great. It gives you the opportunity to explore the landscape of several fun filled zones such as Desert, Urban, Polluted or the really hard volcanic zone. Over all I hold the game to the same high standared as I do the cartoon show. The coolest mission on the Maximal Side is Polluted One, Polluted Zone, I think it's cool because I get to rescue Rattrap from a stasis pod. The game is just as fun as the TV show. All of the missions are really fun, all though hard, I still get a kick out of playing the game. I think this game deserves five stars and I think it's the perfect thing for any Beast Wars fan to have in their collection.
