Beastie Boys Biography Rules! - by Cris, March 29, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Beastie Boys (The Library of Hip Hop Biographies) (Library Binding)
One of the most influential hip hop groups, the Beastie Boys, has a book called Beastie Boys, that is named after the group, by Thomas Forget. This book comes out of a series of hip hop biographies.
The book is about a rock group turning into hip hop musicians. The Beastie Boys got so much attention that they open for Madonna in her " Like A Virgin" tour. But it was a disaster for the Beastie Boys, they were booed off the stage everynight. Their lyrics were meant as a joke for many fans. That same year they went on the "Rasing Hell" tour with Run D.M.C, Whodini, and LL Cool J. The tour was succesful. Fans loved the tour. After the tour thier next big step was thier full lenght album. Licensed to Ill, released in 1986 was a humongous hit, with there first single "Fight for Your Right". Licensed to Ill was a big hit. It made history for becoming the first rap album to go number 1 on the pop charts and stayed there for 7 weeks. The album had sold 5 million copies, going 5 times platnium. After the album, the group went down ward having problems with the group and Def Jam. There is more to come, but you most read the book.
The book is real shocker, and it will tell you more then just music. This book gets 5 stars it inspierd me.
