Composer Dan Romer should get ready to become a lot busier because this soundtrack is outstanding. Much like the film it scores, the soundtrack is uplifting yet tinged with sadness, vast yet intimate, familiar yet fresh. Those combinations seem contradictory because they are yet they all live beautifully together in the film and in Romer's score. Do your soul a solid and see the film and get the soundtrack.

I love this soundtrack for two reasons. One, because I think it perfectly captures the feel of the film, from bayou blues to whimsical, epic instrumentals. Two, because even if I had not seen (and fallen in love with) this film, this music would stir my soul.

It's been on repeat in my room for weeks. I love soundtracks, and this is an excellent example of one. The songs touch on so many emotions and make me feel like I'm on a permanent adventure, even if it's one in the morning and I'm just sitting in my room working on a paper. It's stunning, with quiet lulls and brash, epic finales.

The last four songs in particular are incredible. They blend together perfectly and must be listened to in succession. Sometimes when I reach that part of the album I just sit back and try to envision the film playing in my head. This music is simply transcendental and I suspect it will remain in my library forever.

On an unrelated note, you've got to see this film. It's stunning beyond belief. I went into the theater tired and feeling a little lifeless. When the credits rolled two hours later, my jaw was hanging open in disbelief at the wonder I had just experienced and tears were running down my face and all I wanted to do was run into the streets screaming about how beautiful this life is.

To say that I was thoroughly delighted with this soundtrack would be the a gross understatement.
They way the composers interlaced beautiful rhythmic sounds with classic Cajun compositions (like in 'The Bathtub') was breathtaking.
Hats off to everyone involved in this soundtrack and in the film.
Simply, wonderful.

I don't know much about musical scores, but I really like this music. I like to listen to instrumental while I work and this is less intense than Inception, Hannah or Social Network (my other go-to music while working).

Saw the movie in theaters and fell in love with it! Loved the music so I knew the soundtrack would be good. And it is! Love the mix of classical and country/cajun! Very well done!

Never heard of the movie; never heard of the composer. I felt like I hit the jackpot. I like every single track except tracks 6 & 13.

So much mood and style in this music: soft, loud, happy, sad, you name it. This guy knew how to write and arrange for the instruments. The mixing sounds less over processed (compared to most epic movie soundtrack nowadays) but more raw and intimate.

This is a good soundtrack, but TRACK 11 - "Particles of the Universe (Elysian Fields)" is missing on the CD. The sound for "Strong Animals" appears on TRACK 11 but is named "Particles of the Universe (Elysian Fields)".
