For a while I've heard about the Beat Generation CD's. the first one I've heard about was DJ Jazzy Jeff's "The Magnificent". Thanks to this CD, BBE/Rapster give a taste of what the Beat Generation series has to offer, bringing together some of the most well-respected producers in hip-hop such as Pete Rock and Marley Marl. Taking the best tracks from their albums and putting it on this, it gives the listener a full idea of what they are out to accomplish. Additional producers include DJ Spinna, Jay Dee aka J. Dilla, King Britt, Larry Gold, and Will.I.Am from The Black Eyed Peas.

Listen up people. I'm telling you that this is how hip-hop should be done. No flossin', no frontin', just nice hip-hop soul that is smooth. If you're tired of all the posturing and same formulas over and over again, give this CD (and all the CDs that inspired it) a chance. Holla back ya'll... soul, peace and phat beats!
