I brought this CD to a rooftop party where they were playing "house" music. When I put it on, suddenly, everybody came to life and wanted to know what it was. These tracks are gutsy and exhilarating... Perfect for an outdoor gathering or summer party...

Beat At Cinecitta Takes Me Back,
By Aceface (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beat at Cinecitta 3 (Audio CD)
In the late 80's I spent most of my time working as a musician in Toronto. There was a tv channel there that always broadcast 60's and 70's Italian films from midnight until about 4am, perfect timing for a musician. For years my favourite part of the day was rushing home on the subway to catch that evening's Italian flick on the tele, despite the fact that I barely understand Italian. The music on these albums takes me back to all the great times I had in that small Dupont Street apartment with my friends watching all of those marvelous Italian movies. Since purchasing all three volumes of Beat At Cinecitta, it has become clear to me that this music stands on it's own without the support of a film. Thinking back on those years, the music on these albums seems to have been the real draw for me. |
