GOT A RADAR SPEEDING TICKET? THEN BUY THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Beating the Radar Rap: Tested Techniques for Fighting Electronic Speed Entrapment--And Winning (Paperback)
It is obvious that the safety nannies and police officers have given this book zero stars, since they like to see people get ticketed. The more tickets that are issued the more $$$ flows in their direction. If you want to have your speeding ticket dismissed or humilate the cop in court, then BUY THIS BOOK! It's got lots of questions to ask the cop and it's really easy to understand. I bought this book based on the recommendations of the other reviews and boy am I glad I did! I got my ticket thrown out of court and I made the cop look like an idiot in court. He didn't know anything about how his radar works. Anyway, BUY THIS BOOK and you'll get your ticket dismissed too!!

The BEST BOOK ever written FOR DEFEATING a RADAR ticket!!!!!,

This review is from: Beating the Radar Rap: Tested Techniques for Fighting Electronic Speed Entrapment--And Winning (Paperback)
This is THE ultimate source for handling your day in court for your speeding ticket. The book is writen for the every day person whom cannot afford a lawyer and doesn't know much about court procedure. It tells you what to expect when you get to court, and how to prepare your case for trial. The key to beating a radar ticket is to ask the officer questions in court. This raises reasonable doubt, and challenges the accuracy of the officer's testimony. THIS BOOK has over twenty pages of questions already prepared for you to ask the officer. It even has the officer's likely response to your questions. I have used this book three times and had ALL THREE OF MY SPEEDING TICKETS DISMISSED. Most police officers are very unfamilar with how their radar works. Most officers just point their radar gun at cars and get a reading, without knowing which car is supplying the reading. The book Beating the Radar Rap puts YOU, the motorist back on a level playing field. You have an almost 100% guarantee that you will get your ticket DISMISSED or the charges greatly reduced if you read this book!!! Buy "Beating the Radar Rap" today and you'll never plead guilty to, or pay another speeding ticket again FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!

If you live in a state where the law protects its citizens from law enforcement abuses (speed traps, sloppy policework, outright lying) and judges handle motor vehicles cases fairly, this book could be very helpful. It's reasonably priced and packed with truly useful information. There's good stuff about how to avoid speeding tickets too. Unfortunately, there are many states where you can't even subpoena records in order to prepare your case. New York is one of them. How can you defend yourself without such a basic right? Answer: You can't. Most judges, especially at the level of traffic court, are hacks who couldn't care less about justice. Your community may be an exception to this disgraceful state of affairs. The best way to find out is to go to court BEFORE your court date and see how the cases are heard. Since crooked cops and judges are used to making "deals," you can hire another crook, an attorney, to bargain down your charge to something that will have less of an impact on your driving record and insurance. It's all very legal. My advice: Drive carefully, expect to be shaken down by the crooks, I mean cops, from time to time, and find out if, like California and Nevada, your state's laws treat these kinds of offenses fairly. If so - and you're willing to really work at it - take a shot at defending yourself if nothing more than for the experience of acting like a citizen for a free country. I think the book is outstanding, but it's no magic pill for this very common form of police and government harassment....

HELPFUL BUT YOU NEED TO BE A LAWYER TO UNDERSTAND IT,
By A Customer
This review is from: Beating the Radar Rap: Tested Techniques for Fighting Electronic Speed Entrapment--And Winning (Paperback)
Overall, I liked the book, but feel it was very technical in the information presented. There are lots of technical things talked about that are confusing and difficuilt to understand. The book prepares you for court, however, from my experience, you usually dont get much time from the courts to present the case. Most of my experiences in court have the court rushing things along and they did not allow sufficient time to question the officer. I have been lucky in beating my tickets because the police officer did not show up, and our state law helped me out also because the officer did not have calibration records and Connecticut requires the police to have them. Beating the Radar Rap is worth the money spent though, just be prepared to read a book of scientific mumbo jumbo.

I am not an avocate of exceeding the posted speed limit as it is breaking the law. That said I like every other citizen of this country does just that, some more often than others. This book is about knowing your rights. If the officer issuing the ticket can be tested in court and fails...shame on them for not knowing the laws they are enforcing. I have had tickets in a the Cook County Court outside of Chicago Illinois (Markham to be exact) and it is a sham. Let's just say that speeding tickets are 5% enforcement of the laws and 95% about revenue. I am friends with an officer who has admitted to me on numerous occasions that there are goals (wouldn't go so far as to say quotas) on traffic violations so don't believe that they don't have them. To all of us who speed, it is breaking the law, but the other side is not playing fair. The cops lie, the judges are all about the $$$ and the system hopes you don't know anything so you pay your ticket and waste more time and money in traffic court. Insurance companies love this excuse to increase your rates and/or make it difficult to find coverage elsewhere. Know your rights and use them to their fullest. If you succeed, you likely know more about the laws and the equipment than the officer who wrote the ticket and possibly the judge. If the officer knew more than we have to take our medicine. To the officers reviewing this book...it only works if you don't know the laws, regulations and the rights of citizens. To the officers who are underinformed, you SHOULD be embarrased in court and to those who are knowledgable, THANK YOU for taking your position seriously.

After 12 years, I need this book again.,

I have just re-ordered a new copy of this classic, since mine has been permanately "borrowed". I must have bought my original copy right after the book was first published and assure you that you can beat the "mobile revenue collectors". I've done it several times now, armed with the knowledge contained in the book. While being a bit technical, it offers a step by step explanation of what to expect and the actions you must take. Back then, my job kept me on the road and the speed limits were unreasonably low. Today, with the increased speed limits, the constables and troopers have moved from the Interstate highways to the smaller highways where it is easier to meet their ticket quotas. Wreck a speed [collector]'s day, buy this book and come to court prepared to win!

This book is very hard to read and understand. Its full of all kind of legal and technical stuff. It does have helpful information but I found another book here on Amazon that read better and was full of great useful information. The book is called An Educated Guide To Speeding Tickets How to Beat and Avoid them, the author is Richard Wallace, the book is great and I bought it here on Amazon. You should to if you get a speeding ticket and need to fight it. The book seems to work based on the other reviews I have seen. I have not used it to beat a ticket but will should I ever get stopped. The author used to be a cop to! Thats Cool! This, of course, is just my opinion. You decide.

Traffic tickets have NOTHING 2 do w/ safety--they're about $,
By A Customer
This review is from: Beating the Radar Rap: Tested Techniques for Fighting Electronic Speed Entrapment--And Winning (Paperback)
It has long been known that traffic tickets are all about raising money. They have nothing to do with "safety." The cops have LOST the "speed kills" battle, so now they've changed their slogans to "road rage" and the baloney "aggressive driving." Some small towns collect their ENTIRE operating budget from traffic tickets. Here's the scenario that is all too common around the country: There is one stretch of road that goes through a town, that has one cop with a radar. The speed limit is 10-15 mph UNDERposted, and the cop's job is to write "speeding" tickets to the unlucky travelers. Naturally, no out-of-stater is going to drive 300 miles or more back to the town to fight the ticket, so they just PAY it. Walllah!! MONEY for the town. Some states have NO radar training requirements at all for the police. They just give the cops radar guns and say, "Okay. Go ticket people." Radar is prone to SEVERAL different types of errors, as well as judgement error on the part of the officer. The book "BEATING THE RADAR RAP" tells you all about radar and how it works. It's really easy to understand. Since cops like to raise the revenue/operating budget of their state or municipality, it makes sense to FIGHT this corruption in court!! This book is really cool! I have used it and gotten one of my tickets thrown out of court. I even talked my way out of two others, because I started asking the cop questions about his radar and he got all nervous. I guess he didn't want to face me in court because he knew that I would ask him lots of questions, FROM THIS BOOK, that he would NOT know the answer to. If you buy this book, you will have a GREAT chance of getting your ticket dismissed or greatly reduced. EVERYONE who DRIVES should read this book, even those who do NOT speed. I've heard horror stories about people receiving tickets from a radar cop and they were NOT even speeding!! The radar was probably not calibrated correctly, that's why they got the ticket. If those unlucky motorists had this book, they would not have said, "You can't beat city hall." WITH THIS BOOK you CAN BEAT CITY HALL!!!!!!!

I found this book contained relevant information concerning how to fight a radar-based speeding ticket. However, my ticket was laser based. Hmmm, this book was published before laser was even in use. Oh well...I have found it very difficult finding any book on how to fight a laser-based ticket. Any suggestions?

I wasn't sure I was going to buy the book untill I came across two comments from cops. A one star from a cop is for me a higher grade than 6 stars recommendation from a normal person. I am buying the book if for no other reason than just to make the cops mad.
