Soft Guitar,

This review is from: A Beatles Collection (Audio CD)
If you like soft guitar music or the Beatles or both, this is the recording for you. I like both. Playing it in the background as I work or play on the computer has become a delightful habit. The calm sound of Neil Hogan's solo guitar also takes some of the tension out of driving. I just ordered another copy of the CD to keep in the car.

Best Beatles Cover Out There!,

This is the best instrumentsl tribute to the Beatles I have ever found. In fact, it is in my top 100 CD's of my 10k CD library! Now, that is saying something when Laurence Juber (who played for a time with Wings) makes an album that doesn't compare to Hogan's. I like Neil's other album, "Yesterday's News," but it's not for everyone. He also has an Xmas album that doesn't appear to be available on Amazon, but might be directly from Sweeney records, which is very good indeed, but not my kind of music. If you like Xmas albums, I can highly recommend it as great instrumental covers in that genre. If you like outstanding smooth guitar, Neil in concert is well-worth seeing. I know he plays in Northern California. His style is influenced by Hawaiian music, though it doesn't show on the Beatles tribute CD. |
