Purchased this book while in London at Harrod's for around $65 very excited that i was getting a complete songbook. When i returned home with guitar in hand i discovered almost every song was in the wrong key with very few exceptions. Do not buy this book! Buy the Hal Leonard Beatles Chordbook instead.

For some reason, there are two versions of the 1983 "The Beatles Complete" Guitar/Vocal Edition, so be careful with the one you pick.

There is this one (the yellow cover with the gold medallion) and the other one with the more graphic colourful cover that has the two eyes. The other one has the better cover, but this one has the better chords (and seemingly more songs in the correct key). It also has the chords with full chord boxes throughout the songs (unlike the other book) which I also find far more convenient.

I have had this book for many years and definitely recommend it to the starting guitarist who is a Beatles fan - - the fact that such brilliant songs can be composed of relatively simple chord progressions just confirms their genius and adds to your enjoyment of the songs. The perfect book from which to sit down and strum a few songs.

I love this book! I had it once when I was in high school *cough cough* years ago, but I lost it somewhere along the last few girlfriends. It's a great book if you need to know chord progressions of the songs and like to sing along with your guitar. Some of the songs are in the wrong key, but you can transpose those easily, as I almost always transpose all the songs to C anyway (tells you how good of a singer I am). Hope this helps, and enjoy the book!!!
