George Harrison's Guitar Done Justice,

= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

The guitar is basically a RB2 guitar (with the same automatic calibration features and what not) created to look exactly like George Harrison's old Gretsch, and it looks fantastic. You can tell a careful amount of work was done to make sure it was replicated properly. All the buttons are solid and the strum bar work great. Although the price is a bit steep at $100, if you love The Beatles and the guitar style this is a good pickup.

This is by far the best videogame peripheral I have ever used. The feel of the guitar is great. The buttons don't make that "clickity clack" that other guitars do, so it's not noisy and it feels very good when you're using it. The guitar itself is much larger than the normal GH or Rockband guitar, in fact it looks like a real guitar from across the room. All the chrome bits, the wood grain neck, and the inlays really make this a loving tribute to Mr. Harrison. If you love the Beatles and Rockband, I highly recommend it.

Sure. First off, I picked up this guitar because I had the game but no peripherals (I had been barrowing my brother-in-law's RB2 guitar and eventually he wanted it back). There are many cheaper guitar options I could have gone with, but if money is burning a hole in your pocket, you are best off buying this beauty.
The controller is visually stunning. Curvy, sleek, and solid. The white binding is a great nod to detail. The fret buttons work terrifically and feel much more responsive than the RB2 & RB1 guitars. One thing I absolutely love about this peripheral is the effects knob. Harmonix has replaced the toggle switch for overdrive effects with a round knob. That way you are not always bumping into it, changing the effects and what not (I like keeping mine on echo). However one thing I didn't really like was the placement of the 'select' button. I've never really been one to tilt my guitar to go into overdrive, I've always hit the select button because it helps to keep me focused. On the Gretsch however, the select button has been moved significantly farther down and away from the strum bar making it harder to locate. Good thing the tilt mechanic works great (unlike the other guitars that would either fight the tilt, or set off for no reason). Speaking of which, If you want to pick up an overdrive stomp box, you can plug it into the jack at the bottom of the guitar. That is also where the 'PS' and 'connect' buttons are located. The whammy bar is a bit deceiving. In the pictures it looks really different to what we are used to, but in all reality it's just a standard RB whammy bar with a chunk of plastic clipped on top. Still works great. One thing I noticed about the guitar (right out of the box) was that it sounds like something is loose inside. I've actually opened it up to see if I could find the culprit, but to no avail. Minor gripe. Auto-Cal works great.

If you are a Beatles nut like I am, then having the guitar that George played is a great treat. However, I still prefer the Rickenbacker controller because that is a facsimile of the guitar John actually used on stage with the Beatles in 1964. George stopped played the DuoJet in 1962 and was never seen on stage with it in the US.

The guitar is an excellent replica of George Harrison's Gretsch. The buttons and strum bar work great and the tilt mechanic works just like you would expect. This is a must have if you love the Beatles! My friends will be impressed.

Attention to detail was put into all Beatles RB Guitars. Seems odd that the Gretsch Duo is limited more than the Ricken, however, for die hard RB & Beatles fans, this is a must have

This is a great controller! It is an authentic replica of the one George Harrison used to play. I actually like the Rickenbacher better, but this one is just as quiet and comfortable to play.
