If you have a road trip, it would be a valueable lesson to take DJD B4Freaks with you. This head trip is solid, a bit funky, but overall, a nicely thoughtout rythmic vibe of good beats ands music. DJD puts his style all throughout this compilation and his style has forced me to stick with the MOONSHINE RECORDS bandwagon....... ATB, DJ Bryan.

Dj Dan is one of the killer break beat Dj's around. His work first caught my ear on Keoki's "Altered Ego Trip", as he did a great break beat remix of "Crash". His killer style and sound can be heard on his latest set, "Beats4freaks". On this set he mixes up the likes of C-Dock, Dj Technique, Fuselage, and Cirrus "Back on a Mission". If you like break beat, Dan is your man! Check out my favorite, Dj Technique's "My Technique".

First of, the track "Higgledy Piggledy" by Ian Pooley is not included on the actual CD. However, there are two "Eisbaer" remixes (Groove Zone Mix and Soul Hooligan mix). Most of the tracks on this CD rely on interesting (often retro) and driving beat loops. My favorite track is definitely DJ Technique's "My Technique" whose vocal style reminds me of Wildchild's "Renegade Master." [I wish they would play this song in the Eurodance loving (ARGH) and only club of the college town I live in). Other highlights include the Soul Hooligan Mix of Groovezone's Eisbaer (original is by Grauzone... Neue Deutsche Welle irgendjemand?), "Live @ K-Market," "Visions of the Future" (sort of Daft Punk'ish) and "The Freaks come out."

DJ Dan has been around for quite some time now. His disco infused beats and grooves are very original and quite well done. On this album, DJ Dan has a good mix of tracks and some really tight beats. I am glad to see him still scouring the vinyl isles to come up with fresh music. I just wish that he would explore a more beat heavy style with a few breaks thrown in. The funk is good but after so many albums it has gotten a bit long... However, for what it is, DJ Dan is the best. I would recommend this album.

The sound quality on the CD sucks. It sounds like the music is coming from a cassette tape. Shipping was prompt. For the price paid the quality should be much better than it is.

If you haven't heard DJ Dan's awesome San Fransisco underground style sound yet; this is a good place to start. This album left an impression on me that has made me a die-hard fan for life. He is a crowd master.

I own every Dj Dan cd to date, and this is by far on of the best. The tracks are flavorful and creative, with some of the best build-ups I've heard in a while. The later tracks in the cd are not spectacular, but the first 10 are basically hall of famers in the world of house. I recommend this cd highly

Dj Dan mixes things up in his best CD to date. Nothing compares with seeing him display his skills live, but this is definitely a crowd-moving, beat breaking mix. I can't sit still when its playing and I always have it playing.

I am a long-time fan of Dj Dan's, since '91, and learned long ago why he is such a huge talent. This man spins like few others, with thought and precision. An excellent club DJ that brings his energy and style to his CD's. "Beats 4 Freaks" is a definate must for your collection. If you haven't tried Dan now is your chance to see what a real DJ can do.

DJ Dan is one of the few DJs that you can appreciate his music, and ESPECIALLY his technique. DJ Dan CDs always take me a few listens before I can begin to fully appreciate his skills but when I do, you can find a dub of that tape in my walkman wherever I go.
