5.0 out of 5 stars Tribe at their best., February 26, 1999
By A Customer
Despite all of the negative press I feel like Beats, Rhymes and Life is the best Tribe release ever. I am a true Tribe fan. Indeed they have been my favorite music group for ten years. Ever since their first LP there has been no contest to their stature in my eyes, and with each album that they release they further cement their reputation. I don't understand why Tribe feeds into the negative reviews that they got by trying to defend this album. Beats speaks for itself. Every time that I listen to it it is as intense an experience as listening to it for the first time. I was awestruck when I first listened to the CD back in '96, and that sentiment is only strengthened now in '99. Tribe has now disbanded. Their rich legacy of incredible sounds and positive messages will live on. They have always been and will always continue to be my #1 group. No matter how hard my days are, Tribe always manages to pick me up. So don't believe the hype. Peace.
