What a beautiful piece of work!
I have rated only 3 stars overall as this single is short timewise; and offers an unnecessary album version. This single contains only 3 tracks, including non-album track "The Hours", written by Toni and based on the movie of the same name she appeared in. Also the single version ("Strung Out") and the album version ("As It Always Was") of the title track. The artwork on this release is almost worth the cover price alone. Well designed and well executed. Anyone thinking this is just another actress with time on her hands is in for a surprise - maybe her name will help boost initial sales, but the sheer artistry of these recordings will provide the momentum to keep all involved appreciative. If you like Australia's Deborah Conway; or in general appreciate women with strong, non-diva-ish voices; this is a release for you. Toni Collette & The Finish are one's to watch - new single "Look Up" released shortly. |
