More About the Author

I learned to crochet at age 3! My mom tried to teach my elder sister the basic stitches, but told me my fingers were too small to hold the hook. But I insisted and showed her I could do it. The rest is history!

I am originally from Wisconsin, but currently live near Auckland, New Zealand. I am a stay-at-home mom to 2 little kids and crochet/design in my spare time.

Definitely not for a beginner. The baby shoes are made with a variety of yarn weights...baby, sport and worsted. This is nice, since you can make various sizes, following the same instructions. I expected all of the patterns to be worked in worsted weight, as they were in the previous book, Baby Bootie Boutique. This item was eligible for the Super Saver shipping, so I was able to avoid paying the $7.00 shipping, if ordered directly from Annie's Attic. If you enjoy a challenge, this book is for you.

I bought this to make most of the girly booties to decorate the table for a baby shower. The shower honoree is into fashion trends, so I think these are more suitable for her than the old-fashioned types. Having a child myself, I know babies rarely keep anything on their feet for long, so I'm not expecting the baby to actually wear them, but I think they will look really cute on the table. Plus, the kimono shoes have an interesting technique, which I don't feel was explained very clearly - but to be fair, I couldn't think of a better way to explain it myself. It just took some figuring out.

I bought this book for my mother and she loved it. The book is large and easy to read print. I would say it is for an intermediate skill level. There are 9 bootie patterns in it so its well worth the money!
