5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful is the best cd that I own.
Brent Jones has definately out done himself with his latest endeavor. Everyone in my family loves this CD from my oldest at 9 to my youngest at 19 months. You find yourself singing and dancing around the house, and it's a great way to get other peoples attention to Jesus. Alot of my daughters friends are grooving and then they hear Jesus and God in the lyrics and they...

OK listen folks. People have a right to their own opinion and I do stress "opinion". I'm reading these latter reviews and its comical when you give your opinion and people want to throw the
"hater" label on you. You would think that alot of these reviewers are related to these artists. It's crazy. Anyway, I like Brent Jones and I liked his previous release. I like...

4.0 out of 5 stars Huge upgrade from the 1st album........, September 17, 2004
This review is from: Beautiful (Audio CD)
I just can't get enough of this album. Every time I listen to it, it's like I'm hearing the album all over again for the first time, and each time I'm awestruck. Why awestruck you ask? Because this was the first "urban" (I hate that word) gospel album that I had heard that was actually well-produced. Gospel artists have been copying the secular world for a long time now, and most times they come up short and end up making tracks that would have been hits 10 years ago. In other words, the music sounds like R'B sounded in the early-mid 90's. With this effort by Brent Jones & TP Mobb, in my mind I said to myself "finally!" If you are going to make an urban (ugh!!) gospel album, you better come correct. Brent Jones does exactly that and then some. From start to finish I was impressed. The previous LP from this group was ok at best, and they fell into the category I spoke about above, having an outdated sound at that time. Brent redeemed himself with this one. My favorite tracks are "For You Lord", "Just Who You Are", "Midnite", and "Closer".

It has great beats with beautiful lyrics. It's even better then his first album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!!!, June 27, 2002
This review is from: Beautiful (Audio CD)
This CD came out of nowhere. I was completely taken off my feet by this soulful gospel CD. This has to be the best of its kind since God's Property effort a few years ago. This CD will get you moving your feet and giving praise to our Lord at the same time. The fast tracks are nice, but the slow ones are really heart moving and inspirational. Like "Closer" which is my favorite song. I must have listened to that song like 4 times in a row one time. And "For you Lord" and "When I see you". These are awesome songs and I appreciate the effort that Brent Jones and the tp mobb put forth on this effort. It was a welcome pleasure to listen to! The only thing that I found I didn't like
about this CD was on a couple of songs they refer to God as "Daddy". While the term may be synonymous here on earth for our earthly fathers. It isn't a term to be used when referring to our Lord. He is all powerful and he deserves to be respected by using one of his other many names referred to by scripture itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars BRENT & T.P. REPRENSENTING THE WEST COAST!, November 28, 2003
By
Dawn Chambray (Michigan, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beautiful (Audio CD)
His method of getting young people to God is definitely working. Brent Jones converts R & B music into gospel. On his first album you have the single "Crazy" which represents the West Coast in a big way and it's definitely a gospel club banger. The new cd tells us to thank the Lord for everything, including the 20" rims on the Escalade. The whole cd is tight! You will not be disappointed. Brent Jones is probably one of the only gospel artists that got airplay with his hit "Goodtimes" on Adult Christian contemporary stations. But the gospel stations are not really showing that much love for Brent and that's sad because he is one of the most talented gospel artists around right now. The bible says sing a new song unto the Lord. Us young people want to here more stuff like Brent Jones, Deitrick Hadden, Mary Mary, B.B Jay, and other younger artist who sings songs that help us relate to the Lord. All that old stuff the gospel stations play over and over again is cool because they're reprenting the Lord, but I need something that I can relate to. Somebody in radio media please help! Brent is trying to break the barriors and I believe the Lord is going to help him rise to recognition. He is way to gifted to be as underated as he is. Keep up the good work Brent and T.P.

This project is the best that I have heard in a while! Before I knew of Brent Jones, I thought that Kirk had the game on lock, but move over Kirk, make room for Brent Jones. This album is all that! From beginning to end, I hope and pray that this project is as much a blessing to you as it was for me. God bless you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sit Back And Feel The Vibe!, July 30, 2002
By

This is a great second album from gospel's king of the laid back
hip-hop/R&B vibe Brent Jones. He and his "Mobb" come back better than ever, and the vibe on this album proves it. although he may have started the Hip-hop gospel thing, this album stays in R&B mode for the most part. They do refer to God as Daddy, but that's just another way of saying "Father" which scripture does say. And they only refer to God as "Daddy" in one song (Rich) In the song Never Forget The Day they are talking about a earthly "daddy". Get the facts right people!!!

I like the way he sings. Therefore how can I hate on a guy when I've purchased his album which supports his ministry. My point was that you probably couldn't sing many of these songs in church, except for "Midnight"(which is a great song). I mean really..imagine yourselve praying to God and saying "Make me something tight, something bomb, something really dope" which are lyrics from the song "Beautiful". The three songs I like are "For You Lord"(phat song), "Midnight", and "Closer". "Closer" kind of sounds like they stole a track from R Kelly's archive. The rest of the songs are ok. I think that if you had the choice, Dietrick Haddon is a better buy. I listen to Dietrick far more than I listen to Brent and the TP Mobb. Brent Jones is a great addition if you need some bumping music to groove to(the track on the first cut is hot). However, if you are a person who requires some substance(lyrics, vocals, arrangements, etc) with the music, then this album only delivers on a few cuts. Finally, I thought there should have been some more live instruments used in this project. Again, that's my OPINION. Take it for what it's worth or don't take it at all. All of us have artists even favorite artists whose material disappoints us sometimes and we have a right to voice that displeasure. When you support artists, you support the good and the bad. You also have a right to give your opinion in both situations. Right? Ok, overall I give this album a C-, because with just three really good songs I don't think it's worth [an undisclosed $ amount]. I would advise you to listen to it first before making your decision. Peace and Blessings.

P.S.- Can't we all just get along. heehee

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful indeed, October 27, 2003

The second album from the Southern California group showcases Brent Jones's talent not only as a performer but also as a songwriter. The songs in this album are written in various styles including soul and reggae.
"Get Up!" is very rythmical and is a perfect fit for the first song. Stephen "Rasta GT" Dolphin leads the song with a reggae beat, "Rich." Cheryl "CoCo" Gamble of SWV beautifully sings "Midnite," a song about a "wake-up call" in which God is telling people not to wail until they face a disaster or damage but also look up and talk to Him.
One thing that can not be ignored is the chorus by the T.P. Mobb, and with the message in each song and their performance, this album turned out to be so "Beautiful."
