4.0 out of 5 stars not strictly a blues CD, February 8, 2006
By
This review is from: Beautiful But Why (Audio CD)
Her earlier CD knackelbrod Blues was almost entirely a blues CD and was very well done. This one features her in a variety of styles: pop, hard rock, lighter rock, with hints of blues. If you like Knackelbrod, you may or may not like this. A much larger range of styles is displayed here and she does sing almost everything well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can it get any better than this?, May 13, 2000

This review is from: Beautiful, But Why? (Audio CD)
I've been a true fan of Louise Hoffsten for years, and it's wonderful to see how each record takes one with storm -and this one -more than ever. This is an album to put on and listen to from song number one to the very end. And if the melodies will steal your heart -the lyrics will reach the bottom of your soul. Songs like "Please Remind me", "Silence" and "Try a little harder" are like pure poetry, with melody, lyrics and her voice in complete symbiosis. A wonderful mixture of blues, rock & soul at its very best. So if this album wouldn't be a part of someones collection yet, I have only one thing to say: don't think twice -just get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best album in my collection for a long time!, April 20, 2000

This album is fantastic. Her voice is both soft and strong, the lyrics full of meaning, the melodies simple and easy yet impossible to get our of my head. The song "Nowhere in this world" is to me one of the most beautiful songs in the world. I would recommend you to buy it without knowing anything about it and then be amazed by beauty of this whole album. And then take out your hanky and dry your eyes...
