5.0 out of 5 stars Truly amazing!
I'm not sure where to start - this CD is ROCK SOLID. Every track is fantastic/there is no "filler" here. The easiest way to describe the music herein would be a cross between Guns N' Roses (AFD)& AC/DC. Joe Leste (vocals) sounds better than ever (if you like his first band, Bang Tango, check this out - Joe's vox are MUCH BETTER here & the band is more...

3.0 out of 5 stars This CD Rocks!
When I read a professionally written Review of this CD it made me think Joe Lesti had lost his mind. They called it Gritty Rock Meets Alternative.

Wrong. It's New Glam. Much in the idea of "Spit Like This" or the "Toilet Boys". It's solid song writing, heavy guitars and a Glam Rocker from the 80's on lead. Plain and simple. The CD cranks, start to...

I'm not sure where to start - this CD is ROCK SOLID. Every track is fantastic/there is no "filler" here. The easiest way to describe the music herein would be a cross between Guns N' Roses (AFD)& AC/DC. Joe Leste (vocals) sounds better than ever (if you like his first band, Bang Tango, check this out - Joe's vox are MUCH BETTER here & the band is more talented)and DJ Ashba (lead guitarist) brings back the days of screaming/soaring solos. He doesn't play just to flaunt his obvious musicianship, but structures his solos perfectly within each song. Whether melodic and beautiful or crunching and complex, his dexterity and instrumental skill is unparalleled. Anthony Focx(rhythm guitarist) provides a solid backing, as do Glen Sobel (THUNDERING drummer) & Kenny Kweens (bassist extraordinaire!). In addition to their musical prowess, the entire band is extremely personable/nice. Their live show is full of energy and will not leave you disappointed. These guys MOVE, own the stage and you are left with no doubt they played every note on their CD. I just can't promote BC enough! ...Onto the songs...! "1 AM" leads of the album - catchy, hook-filled and a great lead track. "Wasted" is the album's first single and the chorus will stick in your head on the first listen! "Step Back" is the edgiest/hardest song on the CD & is full of intensity. "Ride" rocks along mightily and "Wish" slows things down a bit... lyrics that are very easy to relate to. Then it's time to for more driving power as "Kick Out" picks up - the solo in this song is my fav. on the CD... "BlackList" is another great song which starts slow & gradually leads into a rocking chorus. "Kickin' For Days" reminds me of early GN'R, however, BC adds their own style to make it distinctly their own. "Time & Time Again" is a fantastic ballad (though not a "power" 80's-style one). "Goin' Off" is great to drive to (road rage! lol), while "New Orleans" is my fav. track on the CD. It's got fabulous guitarwork (leads reminiscent of Slash somewhat) and is instantly memorable! The album closes with "I Got It All," which I jokingly refer to as "the best AC/DC song they never recorded." Though I make frequent comparisons to older bands, BC is very unique and "current." While including sing-along choruses and melody, there is still a freshness about this CD that brings me back to it each and every day. If you're looking for something you can bang your head to, sing along with AND appreciate the quality of, this album is a MUST.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!, January 17, 2006

If this had come out in 1987, it would have given "Appetite for Destruction" a run for it's money. This CD is the best CD to come out in years. Alas, given the music industry's unnatural proclivity to shove anything with a melody as far away from the spotlight as possible, this disc will probably join Hair of The Dog's eponymous debut as yet another undiscovered beauty in the "lost gem" bin. Too bad. This CD is exactly what today's music industry, and the rock and roll scene in particular, need. BUY IT!!

5.0 out of 5 stars KILLER ROCK & ROLL!, December 20, 2005
This review is from: Beautiful Creatures (Audio CD)
I have over 1,500 CDs in my collection, and this baby ranks near the top. I was blown away when my nephew (who is 21) turned me onto this CD. By the way, I am 42! I sure wish there were more killer Rock & Roll CDs like this. It has been a very long time since I have loved something from the first listen to like this CD. Glad to know somebody still knows how to ROCK!

4.0 out of 5 stars Deserved Better, June 11, 2008

Had a friend drop by with the first Velvet Revolver CD, raving about how great they were. A couple of days later I came across this CD and frankly, I thought they were just as good if not better. I guess not having the name recognition of some of the musicians in Velvet makes all the difference because this band deserved a better fate.

It will be amazing to see what this band does with new Guitarist Alex Grossi, formerly of Angry Salad.

4.0 out of 5 stars The potential is there., January 21, 2002

Through the blistering guitar solo's by Anthony Focx, lead vocals by Joe LeSte reminiscent of Brian Johnson(AC/DC), and thunderous drums beats played by Glen Sobel, lies a band that by no means should be taken as a joke. Beautiful Creatures have taken heavy hitting arena rock into the next stage of its existence. From the sound to the look, this group has what it takes to make rock n' roll history.
Dont get me wrong, they are a band full of style and potential. But, the lyrical structure seems alittle to predictable and at times it is hard to paint a picture in your mind about what it is the song actually has to deal with. I am assured though that if the A & R people at Warner Bros. Records figure out the full possible capabilities of B.C. that they will surly help them out with there next album.
Beautiful Creatures have filled the void missing in rock today. Just as The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and Guns N' Roses have done to music, I would not be surprised if Beautiful Creatures were next in line to help rock n' roll out. In this dying need of pure hydrenalin, attitude and fist raising rock, Beautiful Creatures might be the answer we all have been waiting for. But, then again thats only my opinion.

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Beautiful Creatures (Audio CD)
I don't listen to much radio these days, so the stuff I buy tends to come from reccommendation or from artists that I alredy know of. A friend of mine bought Beautiful Creatures because he liked the cover art. After a few listenings he decided that it just wasn't his thing so he pawned it off on me. Not expecting a whole lot to begin with, I put it in my player and was actually suprised. He told me that it had a strong late 80s early 90s vibe going on and was reminiscent of Buckcherry. You see, I loved the first Buckcherry album but the second one didn't do a whole lot for me.

To me, Beautiful Creatures is what Guns N' Roses would've sounded like today had Slash been in full creative control. There are some really tight sounding songs here with really loud kickass guitar solos. There are some loud party-rock tunes and some repetitive, chorus shouting anthem-rock. There's even a couple of power ballads. Pretty good, indeed.

While it may not exactly be my thing, I'm quite sure that it will have no trouble reaching it's audience. It's a lot of fun to hear and it's got some good old fashioned grooves.

God bless Joe LeSte. After the "grunge thing" stabbed the Hollywood scene in 1991-92, killing it for almost a decade, Joe never stopped trying to fight for the cause of good old fashioned bad-a**ed rock and roll. Maybe he never had an operatic voice. Maybe he isn't the most elegant lyricist. But he has an ear for good instrumental music, a way of picking talented bandmates, and a heart that just won't give up on his true love. Bang Tango will always hold a special place in my own heart (even the few shows I saw with replacement members,) as will the Vagabonds (the band Joe SHOULD be famous for.) But what I've heard of the Beautiful Creatures, I like. With horrifically bad rap-metal, thrash-metal, and pseudo-pop-punk stinking up MTV and radio, this is a breath of fresh air. *Sniffff*... ahh... booze, cigarettes, and cheap perfume. Long live rock and roll.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerfull 80's / 90's Hard Rock for Today, January 15, 2007

I can't believe both of the "Beautiful Creatures" releases basically slipped under the radar? As most reviews have stated this is great hard rock band in the 80's and 90' vein. But by no means does this sound dated at ALL. This could fit in with many bands of today and kick their *&%$#@! Why these guys didn't get major label backing from Warner Bros. I have no idea?! Gritty, "In Your Face" guitars and vocals, great rhythms'. It has everything you could want. Basically cross "Bang Tango" with "Guns n Roses" and you get "Beautiful Creatures". If that sounds good to you, pick this up now! I would definitely say start with the debut. If you like that get the sophomore release "Deuce" it comes in a close second.

3.0 out of 5 stars Huge Bang Tango Fan Hoped For More, November 4, 2004
This review is from: Beautiful Creatures (Audio CD)
This is by no means a bad cd. In fact I think it's quite good and better than most of the stuff that I hear today. However, I think that Bang Tango was a far better band and even more underrated.

This cd has the same ferocity as BT but I don't think the songs are as strong. And I truly miss Kyle Kyle!!! That being said, this is a talented group and the guitar on this cd is killer. I miss a good solo and guitar thrashing. Joe Leste has an amazing voice too. I'm glad he's still with us.

Beautiful Creatures are on the same playing field as Brides Of Destruction. Both are good bands with a great raunchy sound. I still have high hopes for a new cd by BC.
