This book was a life-changing experience for me. I went through so many emotions as I read it and cried many times at points in the book. The life of Stephen and Cheryl was truly inspirational and spiritual. It is a beautiful love story and a final walk together that could not have been more authentic. It inspired me to reignite my own spritual walk with God and to strive to love others more deeply because the relationships we have in life are very precious. It also reminded me that the walk is not over until we do pass over to the "other side". Life is short and we need to make the most of our lives. It is important to think about the end stages of life and to prepare for them. I am sure it was painful for Cheryl to capture the moments she spent with her husband in such a meaningful way. Thank you for sharing this very personal experience of your lives with us. This book is its own work of art. I highly recommend reading it.

How can a book about a private death make such a personal experience meaningful to a public audience? How can death be beautiful? A Beautiful Death: Facing the Future with Peace answers these questions with honesty and grace. Weaving the past with the present, Cheryl Eckl moves the readers through a story of lives linked in love, of shared futures and of matured spiritual bonds that hold and strengthen beyond the veil of death. A Beautiful Death captures the very essence of a hopeful young couple living their dreams, sharing their futures, and confronting life's final enemy with faith and courage. Without sentimentality, Cheryl Eckl captures and authenticates both the joy and grief that are a part of all human experience. In the end, this is a story of love prevailing over loss and of the spirit triumphing over the corporal.
If this isn't our story, it could be. And, Cheryl and Stephen's discovery of how death can be beautiful brings comfort and hope to all who are dealing with a terminal illness. This book is a must read for psychologists, grief counselors, the medical community, and hospice administrators and workers nationwide.

When I read Cheryl's book, I was in the middle of taking care of my elderly parents, attempting to start a new business at the same time and feeling rather conflicted about the two tasks. I took great inspiration from her courage to face the tragedy of losing her beloved husband. I was deeply impressed by her belief that by plumbing the depths of our emotions we can move forward and create new realities.

After reading A Beautiful Death, I have found deeper peace in my caretaking, observing my emotions and putting my relationship to my parents in greater perspective. Plus, I have confidently begun my own practice of Personal Life Coaching, putting my own life on a new vibrant track and reaching out to help others with Live Life Vibrant.

I think we are all encountering losses in our lives of all kinds as we move into new phases and attempt to keep up with the 21st century. The principles Cheryl shares are fundamental and real and can be applied across the board, if we are as courageous and honest with ourselves as she has been in her book.
