Bill Mann has written some of the most interesting Off Road travel books available. I have explored many of his extremely out of the way locations and learned the real history of the desert for my effort. His books will lead you to petroglyphs, mines, graves and the old historic trails. If you want to discover the real High Desert, then read Bill Mann and enjoy. One caveat is that the editions I used had some GPS coordinates which were not very accurate because they were taken before the military allowed for more precise readings. Use some careful analysis and a little searching and you will find the treasures he shares.

This is a great book if you love to explore the desert. The author describes off the beaten path places that you can explore. I love this book as it directs you to places that I have heard about but haven't been able to find directions to. If you love the Lucerne Valley buy this book, you will love it. When I recieved it I couldn'y put it down. It is full of facts and local history. I look forward to visiting some of these spots this winter.

Bill Mann's guide books are the best! They have given me some of the best adventures I've ever had.

I ordered this book thinking I was getting some great information on Switzerland. It's about a Valley in San Bernardino County, California. It has photos and a lot of sites of "interest" but it ain't Switzerland. Amazon's wacked policy means I have to pay to send the book back even though their listing could have clarified whether it was a travel book about the US or not...
