5.0 out of 5 stars Guy Sebastian brings you a Beautiful Life
The sheer brilliance of Guy Sebastian's new album Beautiful Life leaves me spellbound. This album covers the gamut of every emotion. The funky Out With My Baby and Oh Oh makes you want to get up and dance. Wait and How bring to life your most unforgettable love affair. The pathos and feeling in this young man's voice is mind-blowing. How can a 22 year-old touch your...

1.0 out of 5 stars Yuck!
This is the worst idol follow up album ever. The songs are so misconstrued. His vocals are so limited, and he tries to be a 'cool cat' but fails so much. He makes me sick. His hair makes me sick. He looks like a gremlin. This is highly overrated pop. It is plain trash. It didnt even stay at number one for more than two weeks. His single flopped, and it is dropping in the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Guy Sebastian brings you a Beautiful Life, January 3, 2005

The sheer brilliance of Guy Sebastian's new album Beautiful Life leaves me spellbound. This album covers the gamut of every emotion. The funky Out With My Baby and Oh Oh makes you want to get up and dance. Wait and How bring to life your most unforgettable love affair. The pathos and feeling in this young man's voice is mind-blowing. How can a 22 year-old touch your heart so poignantly? Guy's duet with Mya, Forever With You, is beautiful and touching. It is hard to comprehend that this remarkable artist, who wrote ten of the fourteen tracks on Beautiful Life, can bring to life every aspect of your emotions.
Make Heaven Wait brought tears to my eyes and Sweetest Berry is sensual and luscious. This album will give you a musical experience you will never forget. Thank you Guy Sebastian for a 'Beautiful Life'.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Album out so far, April 2, 2005
This review is from: Beautiful Life (Audio CD)
Beautiful Life is the 2nd Album from our Guy Sebastian - It is the best album out so far.

The album is mixed with some great funky rnb and great ballads.

There are 14 tracks included in the album. It is hard to choose a favourites because each track is worth to be a number 1 single. But I do love "Oh oh", and "Anthem of Why" - It is great songs to dance to it. I also love :Heaven wait" and Back in the day.

For anyone who does not have a copy of the album, should go out and buy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars RnB Genius - who lives the Beautiful Life., December 27, 2004

Guy Sebastian has worked hard to bring an album out with his own flavour.

Starting with Out With My Baby, the funky dance / club move, he settles down to Kryptonite, a sumptiously beautiful ballad. To make sure you're still listening he moves into the late night hot chocolate by singing Sweetest Berry with sensuous undertones after which his own Wait pulls at the heartstrings.
Moving right along, Back in the Day and I Wish (yep, the Stevie Wonder cover that is more Stevie!!) sets you up for a party, while Anthem of Why and Story of a Single Man are ballads with a story - any of these would go well for a single.
How by Robin Thicke - sensual, poignant and sexy. Perhaps it describes Guy himself. A duet with Mya, Forever with You - brilliant. How well she sings! Make Heaven Wait, poignant again. Fiend for You and Beautiful Life are dance and electric. The absolute cream in this coffee club classic of an album is Oh Oh. This is the song you play to get everybody up and moving.
Guy has shown how diverse he can be, and what brilliang song writing is about. He's also shown he's the supreme interpreter. This singer would have to be the sexiest, most sensual person I've seen and heard. A unique singer, with a unique character and it shows.

5.0 out of 5 stars What to say, what to say, what to say ...., December 27, 2004
This review is from: Beautiful Life (Audio CD)
I don't think I can go through track by track. My favourites on this album change every time I play it. It's as if I discover something else to like about the songs every time. (How gushy!) Seeing him live made me hear songs differently too. Maybe because he doesn't try to strictly copy the CDs and his arrangements give you a fresh insight.

'Beautiful Life' meets my criteria for a really great album:

1. I've played it almost to death and I still don't skip tracks.
2. My favourites change constantly.
3. I find something new in the songs as time goes on.
4. And I LOVE THAT VOICE.

Love him live, too. How great were those concerts???

5.0 out of 5 stars Just get it, January 22, 2005
This review is from: Beautiful Life (Audio CD)
I hold a deep respect for Guy Sebastian and Paulini! Both did so well on Australian Idol and both have had great success with album releases. On Guy's 2nd release BEAUTIFUL LIFE Guy has arrived.
Once Guy won Australian Idol he released an album within days, and as you could imagine it sounded rushed and poorley produced. ANGEL'S BROUGHT ME HERE was a jam but the rest were only so-so.
This album is in a new league all together! He has spent 2 yrs working on and writing for the album and all the hard work has paid off! I have sent copy's to friends all around the world and the response has been the same each time "WOW!!!"
It's sad to think that a talent such as this may be over looked in the U.S because the air waves are already flooded with artists who for the most all sound the same. Guy has some big name artists lend a hand for this effort. Mya duet's on a track and even Stevie Wonder (who also has a new album out soon) gave his ok for a remake of one of his huge hits I WISH.
I am so happy with this album, and recomend that in addition to this album you purchase Lyfe Jennings new album.
If you are in the U.S or U.K I dont believe that you will be able to listen to samples over AMAZON.COM so GOOGLE guy's name and see if you can pull some samples up, just don't dismiss this album without hearing it or you will sadly miss out on a rare talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album, December 25, 2004
This review is from: Beautiful Life (Audio CD)
First i would like to say to those people who spend time dissing singers how immature they are. If you don't like Guy's music, listen to something else. Don't waste your time just to say bad things about people. Guy is an extremely talented all-ound recording artist, NOT just a lucky reality show winner. He co-wrote 10 out of 14 songs on this album, and he spent 6 months overseas doing it. It's one of the best album I've ever bought, and he is definitely one of the best R&B vocalists. This album is clearly more polished than his first one, which was a rush, and is more high-classed and styled than the first one, which was a bit too cute and safe. It's definitely a stand-out idol album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guy's Beautiful Life, January 20, 2005
This review is from: Beautiful Life (Audio CD)
All these songs suit Guy's voice very well, and Guy delivers in his second album. R&B is definitely his style and you can tell he exudes the real him through this genre. I had 'Kryptonite' on a loop for the longest time because the tune is so catchy. Overall great CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for the continuing evolution of this artist, April 22, 2005
By
Richard H. (Qld Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beautiful Life (Audio CD)
Guy Sebastian's talent and voice are sublime, his timing and phrasing absolutely superb. His lower register is sensual, occasionally assisted by a slightly husky overlayer, and his crystalline falsetto is used to perfection. There is no better live falsetto singer than Guy Sebastian (as witnessed recently at a concert when the keyboard player deliberately chose to take it up a couple of keys in retaliation for unexpectedly being called up to the stage to play his own song. Guy met the challenge and the song went into a whole new dimension. Should be a single like that).
Guy Sebastian's album Beautiful Life is a Guy Classic, performed with finesse, absolute feeling and when occasion requires, gusto and verve. A wonderful album which could be added to anyone's collection with pride. Every track is a ripper, and the I Wish cover is more than Stevie if its possible.
I've collected all his previous stuff from various sources, including the Paradise album and others. This fella is going to show us an interesting ride as he evolves during his career

The Beautiful Life album is certainly a Marker on Guy Sebastian's journey, and he and Sony/BMG can be justifiably very proud of it. The diversity of the songs contained in the album shows Guy at his best, displaying his writing ability with such well known supremos in the industry. I really wasn't aware he was THAT good in that way. (I've since heard him speak of the short time frame given for 1 brilliant track, for which he was given around 8 bars of music. He took those 8 bars, pulled them apart, got inspired with the words and 1/2 day later, 77 tracks were winging their way to production).
