Beautiful Losers is a touching piece. It gave me insight into these artists' lifestyles. They seemed to believe they were outsiders, but they were the ones who shaped a whole new movement of pop culture. They continued to impress me through out the film with their ambitious, unique, similar minds and talent to create art. It was fun to watch and made me remember that I was once a creative person who can just as easily become creative again.

My wife ordered this because it sounded interesting. It was, and we enjoyed it. However, it is not a documentary on Shepard Fairey. In fact, he is in 2 or 3 minutes of the film. I thought this film was well conceived and edited, and the artists are all very interesting people. You will watch the development of their careers and none of them is a superstar who rose to fame (with the possible exception of Fairey, who stepped into the public spotlight with his Obama/Lance Armstrong/Nike popularity - none of which is in this documentary.) I enjoyed the stories and the personalities of these artists and learning about their journeys. It's great to watch people who are passionate about what they do. So often these days, I feel I'm watching stories about people with shallow ideals. I recommend this movie, but Shepard's name should not be the one name attached to the film - it's like cheap name dropping for a cameo appearance.

This video is great. Having run a alternative space before I love seeing how something that basically started on a whim became such a force in the art world.

I bought this dvd for my daughter who is a graphic design student at F.I.D.M. She enjoyed the movie and has shared it with other students within her major.

As others reviews have mentioned, Beautiful Losers is such an inspirational film! After watching the film, it made me want to go out and use my creativity to create something great. The lives of the artists were very interesting, and each of them has had such a huge impact in the art world and pop culture.

When I saw the movie, I wanted to watch it because I was interested in the subject matter, but my friend that I watched it with was not at all interested in art and artists, but she had an open mind and trusted my judgement. After the movie, she said that she really enjoyed it, and it was very moving. She even claimed that it was one of her favorite films that she has seen in a while.

I think everybody can take something away from this film! It's put together so beautifully, and it's just so inspiring.

I found this film very inspiring as a young creative myself. I think we don't have to succumb to the western stigma of becoming an adult and stop pursuing music, art or just being open. I recommend this movie for everyone - if only they take even a little bit out of it.

The three things that most struck me about this movie, and made me hate it, were-
1) Every one of the "artists" in the beginning of the film, and throughout it, affect a pretentious outsiders stance with respect to MEDIA CULTURE, which is impossible; there is NOTHING outside our mediatized culture, in thinking or being, least of all anyone who jumps on a skateboard, or picks up a spray paint can or a pen and hopes to express something. Then the MEDIA CULTURE, which can absorb anything, even the most inhuman and subversive, soaks them in like a sponge and we're ready for the next new thing. How naive of them!
2) It never ceases to amaze me how social and club-like these things develop, a group of heroic and egocentric "heros" defines a new rebellion, or gives an anti-intellectual voice to their revolution, and now they're all moneyed, big-name artists. What crap!
3) There was nothing in this movie that made me feel the people it was about were doing something dangerous, or something they could be punished for, only what they could be rewarded for. If they did anything dangerous, maybe the world would be changed and a better place.
