I teach classes of young learners and they love reading about Mia. Once we discovered Mia in Not Just a Princess, we couldn't wait to see what else Mary had for our bookshelf; we love the character Mia that much!
In Beautiful, Magical, Amazing Ballet the illustrations are both beautiful and sherbet and dreamy pastel colours as in the first Mia book all the children loved. The combination of a story about a young girl on her first day of ballet class, the new friends who help her out, her supportive teacher and mom, help to foster the idea, that life is full of challenges. Sometimes we look forward to things but find the reality is a struggle. But with friends to help, you soon get back on your feet and dancing.
This Mia book. Beautiful, Magical, Amazing Ballet is filled with love, the spirit of endeavor and brings a big helping of self-confidence and encouragement for kids to get out and try new things. A book for all children growing up and finding their own identity in the world. The story, characters, illustrations go together so well to make this a poignant and memorable book. One that a child reading now will save and read to her child. Parents who were ballerina's when they were growing up, will like as much as their children do.Not just a Princess (Volume 1)
