She's In Control, November 12, 2004
This review is from: Beautiful Obscene (Audio CD)
Like another Amazon reviewer, I saw Diana Anaid live at an instore appearance, at Virgin Megastore here in San Francisco. She sang a few numbers from her new CD and won us over completely. Her voice is thrillingly low and pitched so it seems to come from inside one's own ear, and she is quite a musician too, both with and without her band. I asked her where she got her unusual name and she explained that "Anaid" is merely "Diana" spelled backwards. "I'm a palindrome," she joshed. She is a great natural beauty from Sydney, Australia, but she is soon to be an international star, like Kylie Minogue but with much more rock energy. And also Kylie is from Melbourne, which makes quite a difference. You can hear a few samples of Diana Anaid's new CD on her own website DianaAnaid.com and then you will know what her fans are talking about when they rave over her amazing control and modulation. She's not whiny like Avril Lavigne, she's not vacant like Gwen Stefani--though I like both of them too--she's her own unique person and an amazing singer/songwriter. Cheers.

Awesome CD, May 28, 2005
This review is from: Beautiful Obscene (Audio CD)
This is a great album from Diana Anaid. 9 out of 11 songs totally rock, with the exception of 'Leaving the Country', and 'Why should I', but in fairness they are still good songs, just not as catchy or fast as the rest of the record. Diana Anaid has 2 earlier albums out, one a self titled album, and one titled "I don't think I'm pregnant". I own the second of these two albums and it kicks a##. You can find these two albums on this website, but you will have to search under the name Diana Ah Naid. Unfortunately you can't listen to the tracks on these two albums, but i can personally atest to the fact that "I Don't think I'm Pregnant" will blow you away and become one of your favourites, so if you like beautiful obscene, definetly get "I don't think im pregnant. I can't wait until Diana's next album, hopefully it rocks as much as this one. Like another reviwer has stated, GET THIS RIGHT AWAY!

Like her song, Diana goes off!, August 24, 2004
This review is from: Beautiful Obscene (Audio CD)
I saw her perform live at Borders and bought her CD there. She has huge energy, a beautiful voice, and a fun attitude! She was a cool person too. Anyway, I love the CD and I'm not even a chick. She has more energy than most of the stuff you hear out there these days, and it's unique. Cool lyrics too.
