5.0 out of 5 stars Bar none, the best Madonna dance song in years.
I heard the radio version of "Beautiful Stranger" and liked it. I didn't want to buy the soundtrack to "The Spy Who Shagged Me," so when I saw a CD remix single of "Beautiful Stranger," I got it. The extended remix (Track 2) is the best Madonna dance song remix she's put out in years, and I think one of the best dance songs to come out...

3.0 out of 5 stars 'Madonna Mystic'
Madonna surely has a successful Mystic about her. Everything she touches turns to gold. I've heard of die-hard fans, but this is truly a following-this song soared to number one in North America in a short few weeks. The 'Beautiful Stranger'sounds good and I consider it to be a nice, sweet pop song with a 60's flavour. However her vocals should sound better for someone...

I heard the radio version of "Beautiful Stranger" and liked it. I didn't want to buy the soundtrack to "The Spy Who Shagged Me," so when I saw a CD remix single of "Beautiful Stranger," I got it. The extended remix (Track 2) is the best Madonna dance song remix she's put out in years, and I think one of the best dance songs to come out generally. Track 3, the European radio version, puts the US radio version (Track 1) to shame -- it's much more hypnotic in the mix and sounds and gets you moving immediately. All in all, an unbelievably infectious dance song that for me puts Madonna back at the top of the heap. "Ray of Light" was the beginning of her comeback (not that she was ever really gone, but this is the Madonna I like to hear), and "Beautiful Stranger" is the promise of things to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Song & Great Mixes To Boot, August 7, 2000
This review is from: Beautiful Stranger (Audio CD)
Alright, let me tell you all a little story:

My best friend, Jill, went and bought the Austin Powers 2 soundtrack when she couldn't find the import single to this. She told me how horrible it was except for Madonna's song. She further proved this by making me a tape with some of the songs (including that God-awful Melanie 'Scary Spice' G song. Now you know how she got THAT nickname).

So I made it my mission to find this single, two copies, actually, one for myself, and one for Jill, I didn't want her to have to see or play that bad CD anymore than she had too.

I left early one day for work, so I could stop by the music store and check things out. I scanned, but no "Beautiful Stranger" import. I decided, I had a few minutes, I'd search through the 'M' section. Well, whattaya know? They had two copies of it! I purchased them both and hurried home to e-mail Jill the good news and to play the new CD.

Of course, the album version is fabulous and awesome. It's pure 60's fun pop, and I don't care if she did supposedly rip someone off, it's a great song, and you can't deny that.

The Calderone Club Mix did take some getting used to. I mean, it was nice, but there was something about it that I didn't like. But eventually, I listened to it more and I really starting grooving on the heavy beats and housey music. It's become one of my favorite Mo remixes.

The Calderone Radio Mix is one that I liked since the first time I heard it. It's fresh, funky, and all around party track waiting to happen. It's pure Maddy, and pure Calderone, a combo that surely can't miss.

So if you're a fan of Madonna...Calderone...or even the Austin Powers 2 songs (or song, if you're only in it for this one, which is understandable), then by all means - don't you dare miss out on this excellent CD. It's sure to liven up any club or party and make everybody dance and sing, whilst getting up to do their thing. *LOL*

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Stranger-Madonna, April 1, 2000

What a great song. Beautiful Stranger definitely has to be the song of 1999. It's so great. The 60's music and sound effects are awesome. And of course, Madonna's wonderful lyrics and voice made it even more spectacular. She has a great video for this song too. She looks great in it. Everyone should buy this CD, see Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and also buy Ray of Light which started Madonna's new sound of music which is great. Beautiful Stranger rocks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastics Remixes by Victor Calderone, January 4, 2005
This review is from: Beautiful Stranger (Audio CD)
Beautiful Stranger is the theme song from the movie Austin Powers The Spy who shagged me, this singles contains 3 tracks, the first one is the lp version from the soundtrack, that you can only have it there, is not in any other studio Madonna Album.
The real jewels here are the two mixes by Victor Calderone (Calderone Club Mix 10.12 and Calderone Radio Mix 4.03), they made tghe song sound more of a dance one and I bet you that you will not be able to have your feet still, they will dance by themselves, great cd is an import but worth the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars A highly enjoyable import!, July 15, 2003

This one's a good buy, particularly if you're either a. a Madge fan or b. didn't want to buy the "Spy Who Shagged Me" soundtrack. The LP Version is the complete version of the song, and is NOT the same as the edit included on GHV2, and the two Calderone mixes are a lot of fun. Good deal.

the lp version is fantastic as you've all heard. the mixes are ok, but am I the only one who thinks Victor Calderone is used WAY to much in Madonna's remixes?! which brings up another point, only 4 official remixes of this song exist (all by Calderone) (Club Mix, Radio Mix, Club Edit, and a Dub...the first 2 are on this CD), there should have been more. anyway, this is good to add to your singles collection

I bought this single because of the 10 minute long Calderone Club Mix. It's simply the best remix I've heard and he keeps on going with his later remix of "Sky Fits Heaven". It's hypnotic...

5.0 out of 5 stars And Madonna goes POP, December 27, 1999
By
This review is from: Beautiful Stranger (Audio CD)
Beautiful Stranger is the kind of song only Madonna could do it. It's a great catchy funny pop song. The lyrics are lovely and the sampler of Light My Fire (by Doors) fits the song. The remixes are amazing as well, specially the tribal remix Calderone Club Mix (faaab! ). If you love the remix you listen to (and dance) in a dancefloor, you must have this single. Anyway, Beautiful Stranger comproves she's the Queen Of Pop. Period

5.0 out of 5 stars A spectacular song done one spectacular girl who has talent!, October 10, 1999

Right when you think Madonna's gonna step down and let some other female artist take her place (like that's ever gonna happen) she makes a splendid comeback! I love the song Beautiful Stranger and think that its another miraculous work of the queen and goddess of music. And unlike some female artists these days, she's got talent!GO MADONNA!!
