5.0 out of 5 stars Everything you look for in a Christian Rock alubm, July 19, 2003

This review is from: Beautiful World (Audio CD)
This is GS Megaphone's second major record label release. I have been following them now for about 7 years from their start in Hatfield, AR and they just keep getting better. This album is a fantastic follow up to their debut of Out of my Mind, which was noiminated for two dove awards. This album is sure to follow suit. From the first track of Reformation, Randy Shreve showcases his amazing drumming ability. The band has grown as a whole from their last project. Ben Shreve (Bass and Voclas) showcases his ever increasing talent on tracks such as Venom which is more reminiscent to the progressive rock band Dream Theater than most Christian rock. Daniel Rosas and Chris Freeman have also made their contributions to this new album. Their hard rocking but melodic chords give this album the perfect mix of crunch and melody. If you love hard rock with a straight to the point message of God's love, then this is a must own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Christian Rock CD I've ever heard, August 11, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Beautiful World (Audio CD)
If you have not heard this band than you are missing the cutting edge of Christian Rock. GS Megaphone is not only the best Christian Rock band I have ever listen to, they easily surpass the music the secular pop music machine produces. Beyond their musical abilities GSM writes lyrics that are not only deep but challenging. GSM is the Rich Mullins of this Christian Rock generation, honest, committed to Christ, and making great music.

4.0 out of 5 stars quality christian music, September 4, 2004
This review is from: Beautiful World (Audio CD)
I have christian bands like Kutless, Pillar, Skillet, 1000 ft. Krutch,... and this band was a pleasant surprise. They sound like christian godsmack, if it is ok to say that. The vocalist is incredible... better than Jon Sumrall from Kutless. His voice is unique and just beautiful. The guitarist has good talent and plays some pretty mean leads. The best songs are Venom(7) Personal Renaissance(6) and Sing till the Song Sings You(13). The Enemy in Me is also a great song. I recommend this cd to anyone who likes Kutless, or Skillet, or any Christian rock band. This band is very underrated, both in the Christian realm and the secular realm. Get this quality piece of music and listen and be drawn into the lyrics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Talented and Boldly Christian, February 10, 2004
This review is from: Beautiful World (Audio CD)
What I love about God Sized Megaphone and their latest album, Beautiful World, is not only their amazing intricate guitar work, Ben Shreeve's distinct and artistic vocals, or Randy Shreeve's poetic lyrics... it'd be their utter devotion to making Christ the focus and promoting His name through their music.

It seems that a lot of Christian music is being written in a way where their love for Christ isn't very obvious (POD, Evanescence, The Agony Scene). It isn't that way with GSM! Their slogan is "A God Sized Message Deserves a God Sized Megaphone". This describes their awesome call to reaching people for Jesus.

While "Out of my Mind" seemed to be a very difficult record to beat, I can say along with thousands, "Beautiful World" has left us in awe. I'm not going to go into the album song by song (I think it picks apart a huge picture, puzzle peice at a time), so just pick up the CD.

This CD is the BOMB. It has some songs for the adults and is yet still pleasing for the teens to listen to. These guys are amazing and I promise you'll love the cd if you like 12 stones, 7th day slumber, creed, or some other rock groups. I think the CD deserves 5 stars because the lyrics are amazing and it has a great message. This CD RULES!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Max to the MEGAPHONE, February 22, 2006
This review is from: Beautiful World (Audio CD)
I have been looking and looking for this CD and had been unable to find it. Finally I just found it for purchase online and downloaded the MP3s.

I heard these guys on the radio here in town and really like them. Their lyrics are fantastic and their sound is very unique, not like some of the other bands you hear today. I am sad to think that this will be their last CD, but rumor has it, this is true.

GS MEGAPHONE---> Going on my wall at home.

5.0 out of 5 stars The ONLY new Christain Grunge album to come out in years, March 1, 2004

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Beautiful World (Audio CD)
One word can sum this album up: "Breathtaking". I'm serious. It seems that I'm pretty much caught up in the past when it comes to music, I'm really big into hair metal (Stryper, Van Halen) and grunge (early Pearl Jam, Soundgarden), so I rarely purchase new up-to-date music, BUT I gave GS Megaphone a try, and GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME!! This cd is incredible! While all the tracks are killer, the best are 'Venom', 'Reformation', and 'Sing Until The Song Sings You'. 'Sing Until The Song Sings You' has a real special place in my heart because of the use of the sitar (one of my favorite instruments) thoughout the entire song.

If you looking for a great new grunge cd, CHECK THIS ONE OUT!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Ever, February 15, 2004

This is Christian music to the extreme. We have played it in our highschool football lockeroom where it became a mainstay over groups such as Mushroomhead, Mudvayne, etc. Buy this CD now.

I can not wait to hear them live March 5 and 6 in Grand Saline, TX

4.0 out of 5 stars GS Megaphone Rocks again!, August 8, 2003
This review is from: Beautiful World (Audio CD)
This is a really good CD. After receiving GS Megaphone's first release, "Out of My Mind," I became an instant fan. This CD is at least just as good, maybe even better. Some songs DO seem to be a bit more cliched as far as their style, but overall, it is a very original and spiritual album that is addicting. GS Megaphone's followup to their debut is EXCELLENT!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good CD, June 20, 2009
This review is from: Beautiful World (Audio CD)
This CD is pretty solid all-around. I bought it mainly for a song or two and was actually surprised by a few other songs I hadn't previously heard. I'm satisfied with the buy.
