This book unfolds into a beautifully written story - so violent, so disturbing, so heart-wrenching, that the reader forgets that it was so real. Ishmael's journey takes us through his stolen childhood into a remarkeable heroic story. It is unbelievable how poetic his words are in such a gruesome reality.
Completely worth reading and buying - eye-opener of what the world is facing in modern times and how we need to be more aware so we can help.
What age would you recommend for this book? I bought it after discussing it with the sales person at Barnes & Noble and was assured it would be fine for my 11 year old, but after reading the reviews, I'm not so certain. Ay opinion?
