4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Alt Rock Offering
Listening to Pandora radio can be dangerous. I keep hearing stuff I've never heard of before and end up on Amazon buying the album to find out more. Well, I guess that's the point isn't it, so no foul.

I heard the title track and it clicked immediately. Great vocal, interesting arrangement, really nice vocal harmonies and some very cool guitar work all made...

3.0 out of 5 stars Lots of potential
There are some great guitar licks and melodys of genius here but it seems to be lacking a little punch in the face. The track Beautifuly Strange is outstanding and shows the band true strengths. If they played more to this sound I think they have a strong future. Solid debut albums for music lovers out there. I hope to hear more from Halfdown Thomas soon.

Listening to Pandora radio can be dangerous. I keep hearing stuff I've never heard of before and end up on Amazon buying the album to find out more. Well, I guess that's the point isn't it, so no foul.

I heard the title track and it clicked immediately. Great vocal, interesting arrangement, really nice vocal harmonies and some very cool guitar work all made for an entertaining listen. Having heard the whole album now, I have to say the title track IS the best track here, but most of the others are not far behind.

Halfdown Thomas sound like a combination of several bands you're probably already familiar with. I can hear Creed, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, Bush, Our Lady Peace and others, but their approach still manages to sound familiar and different/original at the same time. Quite a feat!

It's obvious these guys can play and the singer has an awesome voice for rock. My only gripe is all the songs are very short, the longest being just over 3 and a half minutes. After a while, you figure out their formula - intro, verse, chorus, verse, guitar solo, verse, fade. There's not much variation here and most of the songs, if not all, contain the obligatory solo. Nicely played I might add, but it becomes predictable. This bunch of guys have more than enough talent to venture into more textured and longer pieces and I hope their next offering will give us that.

Apparently after TEN YEARS of working together, Halfdown Thomas are taking a break and may not reform. Google them and you'll find out more for yourself. It'll be a pity if they don't record more because if this was their appetizer, their entree could be something very special indeed.
